“Here and Now” by Luther Vandross is a top contender for the aisle walk, and for the first dance “Say You Love Me” by DJ Rogers – both old school R&B which we both love.

I’m walking to a string quartet rendition of ‘shake it out’ by Florence and the Machine. It’s kind of my theme song and it reminds my FH of me in a serious way. He actually cried when he heard the string version ๐Ÿ™‚

@mcp3x:  Wow! That is gorgeous. I was not expecting that at all when I clicked on the link. And I’m not really a Twilight fan, so knowing how popular the song is as an aisle song sort of makes me wince. But the covers you guys have chosen are BEAUTIFUL.

Lots of great ideas in this thread!

I waited until I was 47 years old to get married, and, after attending weddings for four  decades prior to taking my own walk down the aisle, I could not possibly  have chosen any other song other than the traditional “Wedding March” (Here Comes the Bride.) It had always been part of my wedding vision, lol!

Again because it took me so  long to meet my DH and finally tie the knot, our first dance HAD to be “At Last,” by Etta James. ๐Ÿ™‚

@quierajen:  I’m singing that for my best friend’s wedding, during her sand pouring ceremony. Her to-be brother in law will be doing the guy’s part and playing guitar. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m singing three other songs during the reception, including:

@Brielle:  At Last, by Etta James! I keep teasing her about it because she’s only a 24 year old bride!

@mcp3x: I’ve heard that song on the radio and loved it! I had NO idea it was from Twilight! I’m kind of annoyed that such a good song apparently has that connotation to it. -_-

@xoxoapril:  Haha, it is my secret dream to be a wedding singer. I sing for a lot of friend’s weddings, does that count?

No but seriously, since you are hiring one, does she come with her own band or does she just sing along to karaoke tracks, or what?

We’re having a string quartet play the ceremony music and they arranged a string version of this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJFUNiJw5xI

My bridesmaids will walk down to the same song, but it’ll be a bit quieter and it’ll “boom” when myself and my parents come down.

A lot of people cringe at our song but we don’t care! Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones.
