I walked down the aisle to an acoustic instrumental version of “Best of my Love” by the Eagles. It is beautiful and I get chills just thinking about it! Our first dance song was “Like Jesus Does” by Eric Church

These 3 songs will be a part of our ceremony, not sure how yet:
Grow old with you – Adam Sandler
Here comes the sun – The beatles
You make me Happy – Lindsey Ray

First dance:
Over the hills and far away – Led Zepplin (this has been our song since the begining 7 years ago and we are both secret nerds who love that the song is about the book The Hobbit, also we love classic rock.

Other options we have considered:

You are the best thing – Ray Lamontagne
Anyone else but you (i think this is the name) – The song from Juno

@xoxoapril:  Awesome! I love the vocal version, but the instrumental by The Piano Guys is incredible! I think I may even like it more! ๐Ÿ˜›

My bridesmaids are walking to Sweet Disposition by the Temper Trap, probably the acoustic version.  I’m deciding if ill walk to it too or switch to Unobstructed Views by Death Cab for Cutie.  Our first dance is You Are the Best Thing by Ray Lamontagne.  I think we need to take dance lessons for it since it’s a little more upbeat that a lot of traditional first dance songs.

Our ceremony music selection is a bit of a mish mash of classical and contemporary.

When my dad walks me down the aisle it will be to Le Quattro Stagioni, Inverno, Largo: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6Wl1F2RtDg). I think it’s beautiful and graceful without being overused. I also think it lends itself to our outdoor ceremony (weather permitting!).

In contrast we wanted something very joyful and upbeat when we walk back up the aisle as husband and wife, so we’re having Jackie Wilson’s “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher”. I defy our guests not to shimmy down the aisle after us!

I love that you’re thinking of Frank Sinatra for the first dance! I always think classic songs are a great choice because they’re timeless and you won’t get sick of them, and its even better that it has personal significance for you. I may be biased though because we used “That’s All” by Nat King Cole (Frank Sinatra has a version too :-)) DH had actually never heard it before, but as soon as I played it for him, we were both like, “That’s the one!” I just love the lyrics:

“I can only give you love that lasts forever
And a promise to be near each time you call,
And the only heart I own,
For you and you alone
That’s all, that’s all”

Walking down the aisle I had a classical guitarist play “Here, There, and Everywhere” by the Beatles ๐Ÿ™‚

@arabbel:  She is part of a band we’re hiring for cocktail hour. But she is doing the ceremony just along with guitar. This is her page, not sure why the link didn’t work before
