I think I’ve chosen the songs my bridesmaids and I are going to walk to (Canon in D and the Wedding March, both acoustic). However, I am having hard time finding the right recessional song. The first two are very traditional, so for the last song I want something fun and contemporary! What song did you use?

I went less traditional plus my mom had wanted to dedicate a song to me but we didn’t have dancing at our reception. So at the ceremony the officiant mentioned that my mom had dedicated to my husband and I “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra in honor of my grandmother who passed away when I was 14. It was nice to have something that had special meaning and was more fun to walk away too.

“Would You Go With Me” by Josh Turner. It’s one of my favorites, and it worked well with Darling Husband joining the Navy because there’s a line that says “would you accompany me to the edge of the sea…”
We walked into Canon in D too, and I thought it was the perfect way to have a bit of fun and personality at the end of our ceremony.

Well I guess I’m going to be VERY non-traditional, we’re using “You’re my best friend” by Queen for our Recessional ; )

@MrsMonty11: We’re walking into Canon in D too, played by a string quartet. We’re walking out to a Beatles song, sure it’s called ‘In My Life’

How sweet it is– James Taylor

Our recessional was “I’m a Believer”, the Smash Mouth version 🙂

@MrsMonty11: My Justice of the Peace recommended either “All you need is love” by the Beatles or “God only Knows” by the Beach Boys … we’re having a quartet play, so I don’t know how it will translate. I do think the Beach Boys song would pan out well.

“Kiss Me” by Sixpense None The Richer.

Our recessional is “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Jefferson Starship. Better known as that song from the end of the movie Mannequin. We both love that song and it is a fun, upbeat way to start our marriage off right.
