We’ll be dancing to “our” song, Tiny Dancer by Elton John. Why it’s significant to us: My fiance always teases me for being short (I’m 5′ 3″, he’s 5′ 11″) and he was the first person to tell me about the commonly misheard “Tony Danza” lyrics and he always sings it that way whenever it’s playing to make me laugh. I think we’re one of the only couples on earth whose special song was chosen because of an in-joke.

I can’t help falling in love by Elvis. It fits us perfectly, it’s a good rhythm to dance to and it’s short. It fits our relationship because for us it was love at first sight -as cheesy as that sounds. We tried really hard to take our time and be rational but we couldn’t help ourselves. We were planning our wedding on our one month anniversary! We are about to get married in 2 months and it will be almost three and a half years that we have been together. I’m so excited!

We thought about that song for a while till we realized that Tiny Dancer would be better for us. We’re definitely playing it during our reception though.

We’re doing our first dance to “Unreal” by Gord Bamford. We love country music and we thought it reflected the way we felt about each other perfectly. So it was the perfect choice for us! 🙂

- Wedding: August 2017 - Sea Cider
“Unchained Melody”, originally by the Righteous Brothers (you remember it from Ghost), but covered by the amazing live band that we (just!) hired.
as an undergrad, my Fiance, who was at the time struggling with her feelings about marriage, decided she wouldn’t marry anybody unless they could guess her favorite song without being told. she graduated, got into medical school, decided she’d been silly to have such high expectations, got married, and. . .divorced 8 months later.
I guessed the song correctly on our fifth date.

We danced to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. We had a hard time deciding originally, but we both loved how classic, short, and sweet it was. We also aren’t into really slow songs, so this one had a nice tempo. 🙂

our first dance was “Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. We chose that song because it discribed our relationship perfectly. The day I heard it it gave me chills. I made my DH hear it and he liked it so we went with it.

- Wedding: March 2017 - The Tall Ship Elissa, Galveston, TX
Ours will be “Love Is My Religion” by Ziggy Marley, the slower, live version. Perfect for us. 🙂

I love that one! We had a lot of Postmodern Jukebox playing at our wedding

A whole new world from aladdin! One day we were dancing in the living room and just decided hey, let’s do this song! I really wanted a man and woman duet, so it’s nice that this song fits that bill!

We danced to ‘Mean to Me’ by Brett Eldgredge.
Basically it was the first song that we could agree on. Most of the ones I loved he felt ‘Meh’ about. The only song he really wanted was ‘Here’s to Us’ by Halestorm and that’s a little too sweary. So we had that one for our last dance.

we are debating on Hey Ho by the Lumineers or You and Me by Dave Matthews!

“Follow Through” by Gavin DeGraw
We couldn’t agree, as he wanted something that he’d be able to hear on the radio and think of the day (OK, sweet), but I LOVED these lyrics. So, we saw him in concert and told him the song I was thinking of for our First Dance. He eventually said it was a great song to use, so it worked.

Following because I need some ideas too..wanting a rock song (classic, current, it don’t matter), but still something slow and danceable.
