We are going with Tiny Dancer by Elton John. It’s not our song which is here comes the sun by George Harrison. I’m a dance and our first meeting was when he asked me to dance. It was a tough call.

We went with Best Friend by Jason Mraz.

Neither of us had heard it and when we sat down to pick out music, this song was perfect! I didnt want anything cliche or that had been overdone! My groom didnt really care, but kept teasing me by picking out 80’s love ballads! =)

Since we are having an intimate family gathering, we are actually using a spanish song that is so dear to us. It is a song by Rocio Durcal, “Como han pasado los anos”. The most appropriate song for all the years that we have shared together.

Come Rain or Come Shine by Ray Charles.  We liked the soul sound, the violins, etc.

My daughter and her husband danced to ‘Let nothing come between you” by Warren Zevon, it was so happy and sweet

We’re still trying to decide lol. I really want Wanted by Hunter Hayes – the first time I heard it, I immediately knew that I wanted to use it at my wedding (we weren’t engaged at this time) because it fits us so well. He really wants Grow Old With You, which is originally by Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer but he’s found a cover he likes, because he has sung this song to me for our whole relationship (8+ years). We both don’t mind the other’s choice but want to use it somewhere else on the day rather than the first dance lol. My sister has recommended compromising by using neither of these songs as our first dance and picking another one entirely (she recommend A Thousand Years by Christina Perry, which is a favourite of both of ours).

At my first wedding out first dance song was “Harder to Concentrate” by red Hot Chilli Peppers purely for the line “All I want is for you to be happy and to take this moment and make you my family”.

It also has a line “hustle, bustle, so much muscle” and my ex was a pro-bodybuilder/powerlifter so that amused me.

lolatheshowgirl:

country music is not for everyone, but we had Kip Moore’s ‘Hey Pretty Girl’ as our first dance song. It was just so US.

nattybeee:  I’m thinking about thinking out loud, but still undecided. It’s lovely, and I think it has a nice tempo. But I also kind of feel like it’s overdone?
