I’m coming in to Darth Vader’s Imperial March, instead of doing a traditional aisle walk in my preferred venue I can walk across a balcony where my guests can see me then come down in through a secret door at the front of the room. I’m not keen on being the centre of attention so If I’m going to be the centre of attention all day, it might as well be in a way I’ll get a laugh out of it.

mrsclaymls :  technically Canon in D is secular… very traditional, love it! 🙂

We had a church wedding and could have gone secular modern or otherwise. But I chose Stanfords Jubilate Deo setting in C. It’s so uplifting and joyful and it really set the tone.

Hysteric (Acoustic) by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and timed it so I stepped in at the start of the first chorus. My husband had proposed to that song (in fact, the proposal started with him saying, “This sounds like a good wedding song!”), and he knew I’d be walking down the aisle to it. Honestly, everything in the moment is so overwhelming that I’d advise – especially if your dress/look is a surprise – that you spring as few other surprises as possible in that moment. If he knows the music ahead of time, he can just concentrate on seeing you walk in.

Amazing Grace instrumental by Royal Scots Dragoon guards. Just a beautiful piece of music and had such an amazing entrance for bride.

We got married in a grand gothic cathedral and so many people complemented my entrance song.

We used the orchestral version of The Colour Purple (musical) because it was the show that my Dad and I saw the last time I saw him before he died. I wanted that because he couldn’t walk me down the aisle.
