I’m waling down to “At Last” – although not sure if I’m gonna use the Etta James version or a cover.  And we’re walking back up to “I’m a Believer” by the Monkees!

We’re using all hymns for our ceremony music, so I’ll be walking in to a contemporary version of “O the Deep Deep Love of Jesus.” (http://new.music.yahoo.com/sovereign-grace-music/tracks/oh-the-deep-deep-love–179553352) I love love love this song and can’t wait!

A friend is going to be playing guitar and singing. We might get some other friends that play violin and cello to play with him, but we haven’t decided yet.

When the time comes, I want to walk down to Canon in D–I know, it’s been done a million times–but it literally makes me cry when I hear it, it is so pretty! Hopefully I won’t cry on that day, though! I want the wedding party to walk down to it, too, but I want to have a ralentando and crecendo for when i begin down the aisle. I hate “Here Comes the Bride” and want to walk to something more beautiful.

@redherring:Love it!  My mom was a HUGE Queen fan as well, and I am determined to incorporate that music in some way.  I thought about doing the recessional to “You’re My Best Friend” but SO said “that’s a thought” which in wedding speak has come to mean, “I’m not wild about it, but we can keep it on the table until we come up with something better”.  LOL!  I think he wants to pick the recessional music, and since I’m making most of the decisions elsewhere I’m happy to let him do that.  Not sure what the Bridal Party will walk down to, but I’ve got a song from the Thievery Corporation all picked out for my walk, and I can’t imagine anything more perfect.  Its my favorite band (more like an ensemble), and its the song of theirs that always makes SO think of me.

Btw…Ever since I heard Canon in D as a child I dreamed of walking down the aisle to that song (even though I’ve never been the type to dream of my wedding), as I think it is one of the most beautiful melodies in the world.  However, as the wedding vibe started to evolve, I realized that it would not fit in with the quirky-ness that we have going, and had to scrap it.  I was sad to let that dream go, but thinking about it now, I can’t believe I didn’t already know that Thievery Corp. would be the way to go!

@twocatcupcake:I think that version of Over the Rainbow is beautiful, and always makes me cry.  I’m sure there won’t be a dry eye in the house as you walk down the aisle!  🙂

I have changed mine three times.  I kept picking less traditional, but classical songs that were too difficult (unbeknownst to me) for my guitarist to play.  Frown  BUT, we’re going the traditional route & I’ll be walking to Trumpet Voluntary.  It works, but it won’t make me cry.  Which might be a good thing, actually.

Im 99.9% sure I’m walking down to the Forrest Gump theme (the one with the feather) played on guitar. It’s mine and FI’s favorite movie, and it just seems fitting. It’s really beautiful, too.

I will be walking down to the instrumental solo in the Metallica song “To live is to die” or the paino version of Metallica’ s “Nothing Else Matters”. We will walk back down to Queen’s “We are the Champions”-its gonna be epic!

Not sure about the Bridal Party tho…if the Gms walk down solo we’ll do ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man”, not sure about the BM’s, but my son loves the song “Friends” by band of Skulls on the NEw Moon Soundtrack, and we just may use that bc its a great song 🙂

We’re still a ways out so we have time to finalize the list, but I am pretty sure about my walk to To Live is to Die..that song has always made me cry!

I absolutely love the idea of using modern songs rather than the traditional wedding songs (even though my dad isn’t as much a fan of things that aren’t traditional)…

But my Bridal Party will be walking to Vitamin String Quartet’s version of “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey. Then I will be walking down the aisle with my dad to “Sweet Child O Mine” by Guns N Roses!! I wanted to use “Sunshine” by Steve Azar because I LOVE the melody, but my mom didn’t find that appropriate enough to walk down the aisle with my dad to. Then we will be doing our recessional to either “Some kind of Wonderful” by Grand Funk or “Can’t Get Enough of your love” by Bad Company!! I can’t wait!!
