I wake up to Depeche Mode because, well, because I’ve had a twenty-five year crush on Dave Gahan. I also have the Shake n’ Wake app going in the background so then it gets creepy because this loud, horror-movie like laugh goes off along with the song until I shake the phone. Or throw it against the wall.
What do you wake up to?

Well I didn’t really have one but I started playing “happy” from Despicable Me for my 7 year old. When he didn’t want to wake up in the morning I would play it and he would get up and start dancing lol it was too cute.

I wake up to the “thud, pitterpatter pitterpatter pitterpatter” of my 2 and a half year old jumping out of bed and coming in to wake us up.
She’s pretty consistant at getting us up between 5:30 and 6 each morning. No need for an alarm clock!

realtreegal: Aww–that’s cute! Sounds more entertaining than throwing my phone against things.

urchin: Ha–no need to worry about the battery running out on that alarm!

MrsYokiman: lol It put me in a good mood seeing him be so happy and silly.
I do like to play “Who I am with you” when I am in the bathroom every morning. It is a country song by Chris Young, my FI sent it to me via youtube a few weeks ago. It makes my heart melt every time. (we don’t live together so it keeps me feeling close to him)

housebee: That’s my ringtone! Not for waking up though, just calls 🙂

MrsYokiman: I wake up to the Pirates of The Caribbean theme song… a little embarassing but it’s always fun to wake up feeling like a pirate.

MrsYokiman: Do you use an ap or something to wake up to a song? I’m old fashioned and still use a clock radio, so I usually wake up to some annoying morning DJ yapping.
I’d much rather choose my own song to wake up to! I’d choose something upbeat and uplifting. Something like
– Put your records on
– Will you be there, Michael Jackson…or really, a lot of classic michael jackson songs
– Unwritten, Natasha Bedingford
– Version of All Night Long by Jason Mraz
And on the weekends, Banana Pancakes by Jack Jonson, obv.
Then I’d like my playlist to build over the course of 3 songs or so, getting more and more energetic. It would cultimate in songs that really make me want to dance around like a crazy person like
– Born this way, Gaga
– Happy, Pharell
– I crashed my car into the bridge – Maytrixx
Ha ha, my music choices are so NOT up to date.

I have a magical light clock that gradually starts illuminating a half hour before wake up. Normally thats gets me up on its own a few minutes before the alarm, but the alarm is little birdies. Much less jarring then a traditional alarm and it helps with season depression alot.

Weekdays I wake up to Beeping Alarm Clock followed by a jiggle as a fluffy cat pounces onto the bed then the teradactyl sounding meows and purrs in my face start. The beeping isnt awesome but the cat makes me happy :D.
Weekend I get the above kitty wake up about 2-3 hours later without the beeping alarm. This is much more pleasant and less jarring.

playdohpants: Embarrassing? That’s awesome!! I used to wake up to my Batman alarm clock in the shape of a cave that would open up, have Batman spring out and say,’Time to get up, crime-fighter!’. (Used to as in a few years ago when it broke…)
@cbgg I have two alarm clock apps. One that you can program to use any song and one that buzzes/laughs and forces you to shake it to turn it off. I have to wear ear plugs because my husband snores so loudly and I need something that will get through them.
@MrsBuesleBee That sounds really cool–where did you get that?
