If you work out with your iPod or whatever, what do you listen to you when you work out? They’ve recently opened a Planet Fitness close to where I live and I can’t beat the sign up price. But I HAVE to have some tunes that motivate me. Right now, the only song that I have may or may not be a certain song from Mulan…. FH keeps suggesting heavy metal, but that’s not really my thing.

I use Pandora and usually go into the Dance Cardio Fitness station. They actually have a huge section of fitness music though. I have a ton of songs on my iPod, but I just get tired of listening to the same ones over and over. There are some songs I would never buy/download, but I still like them for working out so I’ve found Pandora to work best for me. Its free!!

Right now my favorite song to run to is “Locked out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars.
You can’t beat “Please Don’t Stop the Music” by Rhianna for cardio music either, great beat. I also love “Beat Down Low” by Dev for squats and lunges (I drop it when she says ‘low’).
Other’s on my iPod:
Havana Brown’s “We run the night”
“Club can’t handle me” Flo Rida
“Crazy in Love” Beyonce
“C’mon” by Ke$ha
“Girls and Boys in School” -Neon Trees

@adoc86: I honestly forgot about Pandora. I’m trying to use up all of the random iTunes gift cards I have right now. A bunch of people gave them to me over the holidays and I don’t ever really download anything. So I bought some movies on iTunes that aren’t on Netflix, but I still have roughly $70 worth of gift cards to redeem.
@Mrs. Doily: Very nice suggestions. I’ll have to check those out.

Honestly it’s a lot of Flo Rida songs. I don’t even really like him, but the tempo is perfect for working out.

I like to workout to “Funky Town” because it’s got a good paced beat and is long. I find it great for running.

it depends on whether you run or not, but the Nike+Run mixes are AMAZING! i have three, one by a-trak, one by the hives (my personal fave, because i can sing along) and one by de-la-soul. they’re all around 45 minutes long, and not too fast so you can run to the beat. the tempos vary through the mix, in line with running and rest.

@futuremrscummings: I doubt I’ll be running much considering how long I’ve been out of the gym.. but I will check that out.

You guys may laugh about this but I was listening to a playlist on Songza while at the gym the other day and Scatmambo by Scatman John came on. It’s total cheese but it’s got such a fast tempo and is so catchy it pushed me through the last part of my run. It made me move.
I really like Songza and Pandora while exercising. Variety is the spice of life. I’ve heard that Mog(sp?) is good, too – still have to try it.
