- Wedding: May 2011
This is clearly not a wedding/romantic song, but the song “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles always gets me. I don’t know why, it just does!
I LOVED this song when it came out and still love it just as much. You don’t even want to see me singing it in the car.
This song WILL ALWAYS make me cry. And yes it is classical. (Sorry about the ‘Alive’ reference…I just love the guys voice singing this version)
And this one…
I have SO many more, but I don’t have enough time to post them all. 😉
Rascal Flatt’s “Why”… so moving for anyone who ever lost anyone to suicide.
This is a bit different from a lot of the songs other people have posted, but this song moves me so much: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVhLNWtFPL8
It’s the Franz Biebl version of “Ave Maria.” My only musical request for the wedding was to use this song during the Marian devotion (we’re having a Catholic mass), but the choir we are using doesn’t have it in their repertoire. Oh well.
I am so in love with this song right now:
Plain White T’s – Rhythm of Love
Fix you by Coldplay – I got sick only a month after I met Fiance and he used to sing this song to me all the time.
For me, it’s always been “How Can I Help You (To Say Goodbye)” by Patty Loveless. It will make me cry everytime. Another one that is moving to me, and was especially during a rough few months Fiance and I went through in early 2009, is “Breathe” by Taylor Swift & Colbie Callait. I feel like I understand every single word she sings in that song, and it will take me right back to how I was feeling then as soon as I hear it.
There are so many but the first that pops into my mind that makes me cry immediately is Nothing Compares to You, Sinaed o Conner
Almost anything by Sia makes my heart shake. She has such a wonderful beautiful voice. I love the songs “Lullaby” and anything on her “Some People Have Real Problems” CD.
I’m also crazy about Damien Rice. “Blowers Daughter” was my song for a long time.
There are also several more but I don’t have time to post them right now.
