@bohosioux:  We actually had no music.  I did not feel like we missed it.

If money were no object, I would have hired an Uilleann piper over anything else (guitar, etc).  I think I looked briefly for the area and didn’t find anyone anyway.  It was to honor my Irish heritage.  Instead I added an Old Irish Blessing to the ceremony.

Kind of like this:

We made a CD of the wedding music we picked.  However, we had at least a few guests (a dozen).

I have seen people who act as both officiant and musician like this guy in Jackson Hole:

Or a husband/wife team that does officiating and music.  I can see H and I doing this in retirement!

What a niche that is!

I know NM is sparsely populated, and not sure if someone near your location would do this, but it could be an option!  Maybe with a travel fee, one person/duo doing double duty can be just as cost efficient.

@bohosioux:  Ah, I thought you were going way out into the middle of nowhere!

Would you have to get married in CO or whichever county the CO license was issued, or can you use the license and go to NM?  I always thought the license was good for that state or county in which you marry.

I guess they would not really know where you went since they could not prove it.
