I thought I’d put out our cake topper (and used this to justify the expense), but when it comes down to it, I don’t know if I want bride and groom decorations in my house.
I sort of want to put up a wedding pic, but I feel strange hanging pictures of myself.
It would be cool to make a scrapbook that could sit out, but the next ice age will come before i finish that.
Alas, two months out, and the only wedding display that I have is the pile of crafting supplies that I still haven’t put away (or donated).
Married bees, did you think you’d put more stuff on display when you were buying/making it than you actually did?

I love displaying family pictures, so we have several pictures from our wedding displayed around our house. I also have the engraved champagne glasses that our venue gave us displayed in our china cabinet.

From my first wedding I had our cake toppers (salt & pepper shakers) and our toasting flutes in our china cabinet on display and we had some photos throughout the house.
I think this time around we’ll definitely have our ‘guestbook’ which is a picture frame spelling out our last name that people will sign around, and some pictures. Depending on how well they hold up, I may put a tissue paper flower wreath up.

I painted some L.O.V.E. letters that were part of our cake table that now are on our shelf in the living room (1 letter for each shelf)
We’ll display some pictures
and then my bouquet (which I’m still trying to fix) will go somewhere =)

I’m planning to display our fingerprint guestbook tree, cake topper (if we end up getting/making one), toasting flutes (a gift from FMIL) and possibly our cake pedastals in the kitchen.

@runsyellowlites: I forgot about bouquets. I do have a wedding momento out! Our bouquets were just dried lavender. I knocked off the buds and made sachets with mine which I have in my drawers and have one of the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets on a shelf.

I’ll definitely have wedding pictures on display; I’ve never been to a house where a couple didn’t have wedding pictures on display.
I also plan to display our champagne flutes in a china cabinet. Also, I want to preserve my bouquet and frame an invitation.

Hmmmm…. we’re gonna have lots of stuff on display from the wedding, but we’re also uber geeks, too, lol.
- our dragon eggs (my black egg, especially)
- bouquets (mine and probably my daughter’s)
- cake topper (entwined dragons!)
- guest book (though, it’ll be more on a bookshelf than anywhere, lol)
- ring pillow will be used as a decorative pillow
- our card box will be on display, also, but it’s also kinda big and heavy and my brother made it, so it DOES have some sentimental value (ok, more like proof that I can manipulate my brother despite the fact my bro is 33!)
I’m sure there will be lots of other stuff that will end up being on display that I’ve forgotten about. The goal for us is to have as much stuff be useable AFTER the wedding as possible!!!
currently, my one bouquet is on the dryer in the kitchen and I have two dragon eggs sitting in candle holders on top of our entertainment center in the living room. There’s a third that I’ve gotta redo somehow that I keep putting off, lol. I also have three smaller eggs that I was playing around with painting that I’ve gotta find a place for, too….

We’re definitely going to hang wedding photos, and we’ll display our fingerprint tree guestbook. We also have a shaddowbox for our stefana (the crowns worn during the Greek wedding ceremony) which we’ll most likely hang in our bedroom.

I had our wedding pics printed on metal, and have a mixture of special moments and abstrat more artistic pics of our venue (an art museum) up in our apartment. I designed our cake topper and had it laser cut out of acrylic, so it is very untraditional. I actually have it stuck in a planter, since it is weatherproof and has long support tines on it. It doesn’t look “weddingy” since it is two robots holding hands – a subtle throwback to our big day. Other than that, nothing is displayed. I don’t like dried flowers, and didn;t wear a garter or anything else that could be displayed.

Almost all of our parties include a printed invitation. With that in mind, I’m making sure to take group photos from the parties (shower, rehearsal dinner etc) and frame the group picture along with the invitation. Those will be on display in the office once they’re done.
I have wedding pictures all over from other people, so we’ll definitely have some of our own, especially photos that include the family.

Oh! I forgot. I also have our wedding album setting out.
