Not of planning my wedding, but of life: dressing up for events!

@bebero:  we’re eloping, but the part that stresses me out is whether some people will be angry/upset that we’re eloping. I know my family doesn’t really care (thus why we’re eloping), but I expect *some* grief. This to me is better than the alternative, however, which would involve spending a lot of money and people not being happy anyway.

The unknowns with logistics…I can’t send my vendors their required day-of/detailed paperwork before I know X, Y and Z…which means I’m waiting on another vendor or question mark to be answered.

Like you, i have a 50 people wedding…my family stresses me out. Weddings bring out the worst in people…..The wedding date we chose has been a nightmare.  Not my problem if they can’t make it.  I’m not scheduling around everyone’s lives.

I am trying to include my mom on dress stuff – fittings, etc and she won’t drive to where we are because she’s a wimp.  The woman is retired and it’s not like it’s a super long drive.  Wtf?  Super annoyed right now.  Ugh.

@mrs_pudding_pop:  I totally get it. My mom is 4 hours away. It’s a hard balance trying to take into account a everyone’s feelings.

i for one, have never been a “I don’t care how so and so feels” kind of person.

@bebero:  She’s about 7 hours away – for being in different states that’s not super long to me, lol.   Sorry, should have clarified. 🙂

Finalizing guest list stuff, and worrying about if I’ll be able to finish all my DIY decor projects. I’m still 6 months out from the big day, but I want to make sure I’m done with all my decor stuff way ahead of time.

Stressful things:

1. Calling/emailing around and waiting for replies when finding vendors. Scouring reviews to narrow down who you would even consider for a vendor. (Glad it’s done)

2. Staying in budget – not blowing savings, monitoring credit card balances and paying them down as scheduled (in my mind). By the time we get married, everything will be paid in cash except the food & drink at the reception. When unexpected costs pop up, finding something to shave off….although it feels great when something you thought would be expensive is going to be cheap…..(ex: my invites are less than $20 ad wedding programs $11)

3. Fearing my officiant says the wrong names at the ceremony (thank you jerk from work for putting that in my head.

4. My seamstress ruins my dress when she alters it.

5. Fearing that The day of the wedding may be stressful and chaotic

6. My uncle is our photographer, this saves us a ton of money! But he isn’t a wedding photographer. He has done professional portraits for years, at one point for celebrities in L.A. …but he still isn’t a wedding photographer and I worry I won’t have those amazing shots ppl have and I see here on the boards.

7. My wedding is on a Thursday — im afraid ppl won’t come :/

end rant.  🙂

@miss_pudding_pop  LOL  My mom lives around the corner, less than a block away, and I can’t get her to do the dress thing with me either.

Well I am a HUGE planner, like every last detail needs to be perfect, Im also a control freak. And my Future Mother-In-Law is a house wife who has way to much time to bother me with all her ideas. Not to mention my wedding is in FL and we live in MI, so we have to figure out how to get everything down there, we went down to meet with the caterer, baker and florist, but we have never met with the DJ, Photographer or Reverand. We also have been stressing out about rehearsal dinner location (cannot try any of their food or see the local beforehand) and edible favors that wont melt. Trying to make sure everyone close to me is finding their accomadations and flights ok. finding a Maid/Matron of Honor dress for my sister that is my color, but also “beachy”. I’m also in college and am taking 6 classes and graduating and moving to another state all before the wedding. Trying to finalize honeymoon plans. Great for you for not stressing out though!
