I wore a floral skirt/salmon sweater with nude heels for one outfit, and my second outfit was jeans, black shirt, and black ballet flats.

Fiance wore khaki dress pants and a mint green shirt, no tie, and second outfit was jeans, white polo, and black blazer.

We did ours outside in the winter at the beach.  So, it was a little chilly.  I wanted to do something trendy but comfy, and cute.  Fiance and I both lean towards earth tones, so when we compared the things we wanted to wear, we found that our colors totally complimented each other!!

I wore nice dark wash skinny jeans with a cream colored sweater and camel colored boots for some of ours.  Then, I wore a plum colored sweater with a patterned scarf and grey boots.  If I could have, I would have done one set of photos with nice clothes…Fiance in dress pants and a shirt and blazer and myself in a dress and heels.  But we were in the pier at a beach and itw as COOOLD so we decided against it!

Fiance wore a sage green casual sweater and dark jeans, and the second outfit was the dark jeans with a brown half-zip cashmere sweater with a button-up underneath.

Just wear something that you’re comfortable in and something that makes you feel pretty/skinny/confident/whatever you need.  Anything else will come across in the photos if you’re uncomfortable or self-concious!  I did try to stay away from uber-trendy stuff, and I think I found a balance with skinny jeans in boots (trendy) and a nice, classic sweater.

I voted that we went for something in between. We actually went to two different locations and had an outfit change between them so we were able to do a somewhat dressy/casual look for the first photos and dressed it up more for the second half. I’m actually getting my pictures back tomorrow (we put our engagement photos off until about a month out from the wedding) so I only have one sneak peek picture. Unfortunately, it doesn’t show our outfits too well. Oh well! In this picture we both wore dark blue jeans. My fiance wore a black collared shirt and I wore a navy silk shirt (with a bit of color blocking in pink and green). If this thread is still going strong tomorrow after I get my pictures back, I’ll post a shot of our vintage styled set of pictures (where I wore a fifties style dress and my fiance had a vest and tie on). 🙂

I walked through a garden with my fiance, (didnt care about special outfits, just us as is) I found a cute area with a bench and nice backdrop and took pictures of us, while holding the camera out like an old “myspace” picture.

We did cute things like silly faces to each other, eye gazing etc.

My arm was sore from holding the camera out like that, but the pictures turned out cute and had a personal touch to them too. I also used a couple for my wedding website.

It cost me nothing, and i gained more close connections with my new fiance.

We went comfy and casual, but we wore things we don’t wear all the time. I wore my jeans with a blue sweater my SIL bought for me, and a cream jacket (it was winter when we did the photos). He wore jeans with a nice shirt, sweater vest and his black fleece. Very casual, very natural, we didn’t like posey photos.
