rounds & princess cuts, especially in halos do not suit me and are not my style whatsoever.

I honestly didnt even try any rings on before we bought mine. I fell in love with this setting and he insisted we get it. It looks great though :).

Anything bigger than .5ct, anything with really wide bands (over 3mm), anything chunky. I have really small hands/fingers, and I just didn’t like the way any of those looked. Oooh, and anything with super sharp corners. I tried on a square halo that had super sharp corners and I just didn’t like it. My center stone is a princess cut, but it’s in a rounded square halo.

I also tried on a halo with a round center and octagonal halo with rounds and baguettes that looked awful on me, but looks great on other people in the reviews. Maybe it’s because I don’t like baguettes.

Anything pave. It was just too much for me. And thick bands. The thinner, the better for these chubby fingers.

@wife05:  me too! I was told that Halos were trendy so I tried a couple on and just hated the look! lol I ended up with a classic solitaire, which ties in to my simple, minimal lifestyle 😛

Princess cuts, wide bands, multi-stone rings that are more metal than stone across the finger and I prefer antique rounds (OEC/trans) to modern RBs.

Diamonds don’t fit me. They don’t fit my personality or style.

Unplated white gold looks awful on my skin tone.

Platinum/palladium looks *okay* on my skin, but nothing to write home about.

I have olive skin so yellow stones actually look quite green on me.

Halos. There’s just too much going on for my tastes.

I have a three stone ring with channel set diamons on the band. It’s blingy but not in your face.

@wife05:  The classic round solitaire… Tiffany style just doesn’t work for me. I tried some on at various stores, and even tried a 2 carat $52,000 one on at Tiffany’s, and it still looked wrong! I was pretty disappointed, but that’s ok. I’ve always loved yellow diamonds and found a beautiful one in a halo setting that I am hoping for 🙂

ETA: I have long, thin fingers so anything too bulky (like too much metal) also looks terrible on me.
