I haven’t talked about it with my co-worker yet, but I’m probably going to go with a vanilla sort of flow.  I asked about doing a confetti cake because Fiance loves it.  She also mentioned doing some sort of chocolate cuppycakes too.  =) I’m excited.  I’m just excited about what the outside is going to look like.  <3 rosette cakes!  Oh, and buttercream frosting all the way!  I do not want any sort of fondant!

we’ll have 2 flavors:

amaretto soaked almond cake w/ chocolate ganache filling


creme de cacao soaked chocolate chip cake with raspberry filling

all enrobed in buttercream 🙂


we’re also having a platted mini dessert trio: mini creme brulee, chocolate mousse in a chocolate cup and amaretto dobosch

then there will be chocolate covered strawberries and some TO DIE FOR amaretti cookies 🙂

Small wedding so just one flavor…Blue Velvet!! Red velvet is our favorite flavor, but blue is my color!!

Everything will be 7 layers, similiar to a Smith Island Cake, and covered in vanilla meringue frosting.

Bottom: lemon cake with alternating raspberry buttcream and lemon curd

Middle: yellow cake with alternating chocolate fudge buttercream and caramel buttercream

Top (to be saved for 1 yr): yellow cake with alternating pomegranate buttercream and vanilla meringue

You guys are absolutely ridiculous, and I am totally jealous. Where was I during all your weddings? We’re just getting an Almond cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream…and I thought we were being adventurous lol.

We’re also having a chocolate fountain and a coffee bar, but at this point they seem a little lame in comparison…

I love the Bee sometimes but sometimes it makes me want to hide somewhere lol.

We’re having cupcakes with these flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, White Chocolate Strawberry, Pink Champagne, Cookies and Cream, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Kahlua, and Red Velvet.

Four tier cake, here. I couldn’t choose just one flavor…

Top Tier: Black forest cake with kirsch and cherries
3rd Tier: Lemon Mousse Cake
2nd Tier: Bailey’s Irish Creame Cake
Bottom Tier: Pumpkin Spice cake with apple filling

Sigh. I cannot wait to eat all that cake.

Oh my god, you guys are making me hungry!  @mightwombat Green tea cake with dark chocolate?  Wow! 

We will have:

Bottom: Amaretto cake with raspberry filling

Middle: Butter yellow with apricot-mango filling

Top: Poppyseed with orange cream filling

And a chocolate groom’s cake made by my wonderful cousin!

Flavor 1:devils food cake soaked in baileys with milk chocolate ganache filling,espresso  chunks and fresh raspberries

Flavor 2: yellow cake soaked in chambord with raspberry mouse filling and fresh blackberries

3 tiers:

bottom – red velvet 

middle – chocolate ribbon

top – carrot cake

and then we will have a sheet cake with plain vanilla/regular cake.  

I didn’t realize they could even make cakes with different flavors until we talked to the caterer!

@mandyanne:  And I didn’t even get any of the green tea cake during the wedding, only at the tasting!!! LOL. We made it the smallest layer because we thought people might think it was weird, but it was SO popular. It disappeared fast!

We’re doing cupcakes, so doing a couple dozens of each flavors! And we’ll have a mini cake to cut at the top and that’ll be pink velvet since it’s my fave flavor!

-Pink Velvet with Cream Cheese Buttercream
– Lemon Buttermilk with Lemon Cream Cheese Buttercream
– Madagascar Vanilla with Strawberry Buttercream
– Chocolate with Coffee Bean
– Coconut with Key Lime Buttercream and Toasted Coconut

– Madagascar Vanilla with Honey Tangerine Buttercream

We had red velvet with vanilla buttercream for the wedding cake.  We served it later though, since we had a dessert buffet after dinner.

Our dessert buffet had tons of pies, traditional cakes and cheesecakes on it.  Oh and chocolate fondue and fruit.  I got main course, but no dessert!   Boooooo, lol.
