Okay, so I’m a little perplexed. I need some sort of bra for under my dress, but no idea what will work best. I’m getting married in the summer, and don’t really want the added layer of a bustier or anything. I’m not supremely worried about anything being super sexy since I will probably feel sweaty and gross and just want a shower after the wedding anyway, but I still want to have pretty things going on under there as the boy will see it at some point. I thought I read somewhere that the cups they can sew into the dress really aren’t supportive, and I need me some support. My dress has a low-ish back, so I’m not even sure most strapless bras will work. What am I supposed to do!? I’m including pics of the dress just in case that helps.
Any advice? Will cups sewn give enough support, or am I just SOL?

I guess it all depends on who is doing the alterations, but the cups I had sewn in gave me enough support. I did not need to wear any other type of bra underneath. You could always ask and find out what type of support the cups will add? Or you could wait until the first fitting and see from there? If they aren’t enough support than you definitely could find a bra that dips down low enough in the back, they are all different types of ones for these types of occasions.

@bdockery: thanks 🙂 I was told I needed to have my undergarments at the first fitting, which is why I’m a bit confused. I have no idea where the dress will actually stop on me to know what bra would work.

THe bridal store lead me to believe I had to wear a full body corset….and 2 dresses in I told her there was NO way I was going to wear that the day of my wedding, so off it came. It was awful. I’m having soft cups sewn into my dress for support (I’m a D or DD), and wearing simple comfy blue undies. That’s it!
Wear what you feel comfortable in. 🙂

Knickers and tit tape, but I am pretty perky!

I’m wondering the same as you. I haven’t found many options with support and comfort! :/
