Check out Nordstrom mother-of-the-bridge dresses.  Maybe you can order a couple of dresses with different styles to have delivered to your mom’s while you are there.   Return the ones that don’t work.  I’m sure you will find something that will coordinate with your plan.  Good luck and best wishes.

I agree that David’s dresses are very matronly – and compared to your FMIL’s dress, it wouldnt look right.  For that size range, have you looked at Catherines, Lane Bryant or JC Penney?  I know Macys has that size range too, in a good selection.  Try online – I shop all those sites.

My mom is wearing a knee length dress that we saw at bell, then db, then a local bridal shop. None of them could order it in her size- then we found it at Ross! Also dress barn had some great ones. She bought a dress there for the rehearsal. She wears 18-22 depending on the designer

This is the one she got at dress barn but in a red plum color, also available at dillards, cheaper at dress barn

This is the one we tracked down from belk, db, the local shop and found at Ross. Found it for 39.99 in a dark plum.

She rocks them both and my mother is oddly shaped, large up top, skinny legs, no butt. I think she had to get them in 22 and they really slim her! The ruffles, if they hit right, look wonderful on plus size women.
