They cost almost as much as the doctors visit for when you break your ankles.

Gaga obviously had a hand in designing these.

Wow! How exactly  do you walk in those without breaking an ankle (or two)?

Didn’t Lady Gaga try to wear these walking through the airport and completely wiped out in front of everyone?

It’s because of the shape of their base. Notice the lip behind what would be the ball of the foot is much wider than a regular pump: this “helps” balance by providing more contact with the ground. I can only imagine what a mess these are to walk in though!!

I knew exactly what pair you were going to post as soon as I saw the title and the Bergdorf link.

How did I miss the $900 pricetag–seriously?! For half a shoe?! I’d pay that much for Louboutin’s if I could wear spiked heels because of the engineering and craftsmanship, but I couldn’t imagine it for a show with no heel.

I think the inspiration was the Nina Ricci shoe.

It’s challenging and you need a lot of poise (and maybe to be around 85-100 pounds) but I think the shape of the shoes you posted are kind of cool.

I call them valet shoes because you’ll definitely need to valet your car, walk in and out of a restaurant, and back into your car to rock them at all.
