I’m so excited we went shopping on the decorations for my bridal shower today with my mother. She’s hosting it at our house. It’s a Hawaiian Luau theme since we are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon.. So do you bees know how your bridal shower will be? Theme? Who’s hosting it? What game’s will you be playing? food? With our combined huge Itaiian family – we are having two showers. My mother is putting one on and my future mother-in-law is putting one on.
We are having my mom’s shower at a local winery ~ I have a feeling it’s going to get interesting by the end! 🙂
We are hiring our wedding flourist to fill wine bottles (from the winery that it’s at) with adorable gerber daisies and asorted grasses.
My bridesmaids are doing favors – but they are something along the lines of nice wine glasses, filled with sugar coated fresh grapes, wrapped up with a cute ribbon and tied with a wine stop.
We’re handmaking the invitations and they are looking adorable! I’ll have to post pictures after I get them completely finished.
We are ABSOLUTELY not playing games. Call me a party pooper ~ but I never get in to the games – and every shower I go to – everyone I talk with/sit near does the same “sigh and grumble.” So instead we’re going to:
*We are going to set a timer ~ and when the timer goes off – who ever’s gift I am opening gets to pick a gift basket. We have about 10 baskets so we’ll set the timer according to the time left in the shower and the amount of gifts left.
*Perhaps: (my Aunt thinks this is tacky so I’m not sure about this one) upon arrival, all my guests are going to fill out their name and address on the envelopes of my thank you cards (WHAT A TIME SAVER!) and then near the end, I will draw envelopes and the drawn name gets to take a centerpiece home.
I just want to relax and have everyone enjoy themselves! 🙂

haha my Maid/Matron of Honor and mom kept asking me what i wanted my theme to be. My answer? “i’m getting married!” lol. I guess i’m not so much about the themes. But.. my Maid/Matron of Honor and mom are planning it. It’s technically my Maid/Matron of Honor “running the show” but she’s in GA and we’re in OH so my mom is helping out a lot. I don’t expect there will be much in the way of decorations…. bc Maid/Matron of Honor is coming from GA and I don’t really care that much about that haha. I know my mom said something about having everyone coming to the shower bring pics of their wedding to show everyone else. I thought that was pretty cool since I’m into photography, and who doesn’t love showing off their photos?

Oh I LOVE that idea!!!!!
I also SUCK at cooking ~ I thought about including a cute recipe card with the invitation so that instead of buying a card (which can be a waste of money) – the guests write out their favorite recipe and then attach that as the card on the gift 🙂

Mine was a tea party theme!

Mine was a surprise, but it was on Saturday. My sister threw me a tea party themed shower, it was gorgeous!!! Tea, coffee and lemonade, with biscotti, cucumber sandwiches and truffles. It was so precious!
They played a game where they read the story of how my fi and I met, dated and got engaged – then they were quizzed on how well the knew/remembered the story haha.
They also played Gift Bingo, they created a bingo board of which gifts they thought I’d receive, and as I opened my gifts, they crossed each thing off their list.
Throughout the shower they played the safety pin game, where they couldn’t say my name, and if someone did and got caught they had to surrender their pins to the person who caught them. It was so fun!

I’m not a big theme person either- and I am not huge into games, so I wanted it to be fun, and comfortable- but elegant at the same time. I finally picked “Sugar, Spice, and everything Nice!”
My thought was that I wanted finger foods and snacks. With some fun sweet and some spicy appetizers, I’m also looking into a chocolate fountain. Like someone mentioned before- i’m not a huge cook- but my Fiance is, so i’d love for every guest to bring me their best recipe.
