Thought I’d start a silly thread, what are some things that so often see people doing that make no sense at all and make you say WHY???!! One of my faves is when someone is walking towards a crossing and the light goes green so they run as fast as they can to cross, only to walk at a snails pace ones they get to the other side….
Lol random I know 😛

Everything my coworker does has me internally screaming why on a daily basis…

People that hold conversations in doorways, drives me bananas! Could be wrong but aren’t doorways meant for ingress and egress? Of all the space of all the rooms why do people congregate in a freakin doorway and get in the way of others?

People who cut you off and then proceed to drive 20kms under the speed limit. So you’re in such a hurry to get to where you’re going that you almost cause an accident but then drive at a snail’s pace to get there, slowing everyone else on the road down in the process? Move bro, I have places to go!!

People who are walking along a busy sidewalk and then just stop, without checking if people are behind them and without moving off to the side. It’s like REALLY? Learn to walk in a city.
+1000. This drives me insane.

People who see someone they know while driving, and proceed to stop in the middle of the street to hold a conversation. Like, really?
Also, in my neighborhood, our street curves when you first come in. I hate when people take that curve going WAY too fast. This neighborhood has lots of children, and I’m always afraid someone will get hit one day.

I’m one of those people that gets near on agressive when they can hear people eating. Most of my pet peeves revolve around eating really… scraping sounds from cutlery on plates, people who don’t chew with their mouth closed, the sound of lip smacking and everyone that is very very loud when they eat.

+1 million. Also those people who walk 2/3/4 abreast and block a busy sidewalk and walk really slowly to boot. Basically every tourist in midtown Manhattan, sigh.

Ugh, I’m with you on this! That’s what I was going to mention. I’m a fast walker, they can hear and sometimes see me coming and they don’t have the consideration to part slightly for me to pass! It’s not even due to tourists where I live.
Also, people who put their milk in before the water in their tea…It’s a cultural thing but you put the milk in last dammit! I’m bewildered every time. I live a sad little life.

Ugh, so many of the ones already mentioned…
Also, people who adopt a kitten/cat/puppy/dog etc. on a total whim. I know they’re adorable and you just want to love them, but they are a serious committment.
I really make an effort not to be judgemental, but the honest truth is that when you’re a single mom who isn’t working and you are frequently commenting about how hard it is to survive and make ends meet, I’m going to give you some serious side eye when you suddenly come home with a puppy. I have total respect and sympathy… until you get the puppy. Now I’m out.

People that drive in the turning lane, like if you’re at a stop sign having to cross traffic to get into the right hand lane. You’re supposed to get into the turning lane when you can, stop, and put your signal on to get over. I can’t stand people that just keep on rolling expecting people to let them over!

I’m dying. I’m watching (not really, I have it on in the background) because my BFF is obsessed. I texted her 5 minutes in and was like…”How? How do you watch this, I don’t understand?”

People that complain about the temperature at work but don’t dress accordingly. Like, if you are constantly hot, dont wear long sleeves or layer so you can take something off, or drink some water to cool down. Alternatively, if you are always cold, bring a sweater and wear pants, no sympathy for you for not dressing correctly. We work in a storage unit basically, its not well insulated to the outside. We are in FL and it has heat & AC but its still basically gonna follow the temperature outside.
Also, its FL so from April/May–September/October its gonna rain. Everyday. At some point. I do not feel bad for you leaving your windows down “because it gets hot” then freaking out EVERYDAY when it rains and you run out to roll up your windows. Its not a surprise, plan ahead. Yea the car gets hot, which is worse, a hot car or a moldy car?
Ok, thanks, I feel better now!

I’m with all the bees who brought up the lack of awareness with walking! I also can’t stand people who hold hands that take up literally 5 feet or more in width !!! HELLO. PLEASE. Why can’t they share the walking space? FI and I are both from big cities and we either split and when its clear we hold hands again, or else one of us will lead and we follow after the other while still holding hands. It’s so frustrating to be blocked by folks who want to go at a leisurely pace.
I can’t for the life of me understand when people who are hard of hearing answer the telephone. It’s just the oddest occurence, maybe it’s denial? The thought just doesn’t connect for me, if you know you are hard of hearing, why even bother picking up the phone?
