Our on-site ceremony starts at 4:30, cocktail hour at 5:00, dinner at 6:00 and ends at 11:00. Everyone will be traveling 150+ miles for ours so everyone will be staying at adjacent hotel. Plan on patying in hotel or head down the road to the casino afterwards.

Ceremony at 6:30. The Bar closes at 10:00 and the reception ends at 10:30. Wish it went longer, but those are venue rules. We will have an afterparty at a local bar/restaurant/hotel though.

@excitedtobeMRSF: God knows; maybe 3am?

@excitedtobeMRSF: Ours ended between 3 and 4 am. Haha, and my parents were still dancing then! Tell your dad to be glad he doesnt have to stay up until then. 😛

Reading through this makes me feel better because my wedding starts at 4 and also ends at 10 with no gaps. I thought that was too early to end a wedding but looks like it’s pretty common.

Our ceremony is at 4, reception starts at 6pm (it includes a free bartender with 6 hours service time) and ends at midnight. Any later and we have to pay the venue and bartender by the hour.

Same! I am very nervous everyone will be like really? Thats it? But with a lot of older and Out of Town guests my fear is we would end up having extend it for maybe 20 people.

When I read your post I was like ‘3 or 4 am?!’; then I saw it was in Ireland lol
British weddings are definitely much long than ones Stateside by the looks of things! Our ceremony is at 1pm and I think the last of our guests will leave somewhere around 3am, so, long day! Just glad I have a spare dress to change into just in case; not sure I’ll be able to cope in mine for 14 hours lol

@excitedtobeMRSF: 9 PM at the very latest.

Our ceremony started around 4:30, and we partied until after 1AM (not sure exactly). We had two shuttles busses, one around 11:30 after the late lunch, and the last bus was after 1AM sometime. It was about half and half. I certainly was not ready for everyone to leave at 1! I was just getting started!
Like @This Time Round:
said, that end time is pretty typical here.

Our ceremony is at 3:30. The evening will end at 9pm.

My wedding (family ceremony but big evening celebration) started at 12.30pm and was followed by a family lunch which lasted all afternoon and was excellent. After a break to walk down the road for more champagne and a pot of tea we returned for our evening do. Which started at 7.30 with the last of the (250) guests leaving at 12.30. We were staying at our venue too and the timings suited us perfectly since we hate to conclude a good evening early! We were married and had our evening celebrations in town though so no additional travelling required.
My son’s wedding a fortnight ago was 1.30pm. Followed by lunch and a bus to the evening reception in a lovely, rural village hall a couple of miles out of town (to which me and my DH arranged and paid for a bus) starting at 6pm. The hall require everyone to be out by 11pm so the bus returned at 10.45. There was an after-party back in town which went on until 2 am and was, by all accounts, a real blast.
A 10pm finish would be very early in our circles if there wasn’t an after-party. However, if you’ve had a morning ceremony then it’d be a long day and evening for some by 10pm. Only you know your guests though. Ours seem to have huge stamina!!!

11pm is the latest the venue allows which is fine with me. I don’t want to be too dead tired and drunk to consumate with my husband. LOL!

Ours have huge stamina too!
We usually have a biggish party about once a year at home (50-60 people), and usually the last people leave around 5am, with quite a few staying until at least 1.30/2am (the earliest people leave is about 12.30/1am) (I should also add that these are my parents friends, all aged 50 plus lol).
We’re having a very similar crowd for our wedding, and have exclusive use of our venue (hotel) with no cut-off time, so, I can see it being a late one; which I’m in two minds about lol, can see myself being knackered by the end of it!
