I would have choosen 430 or 5pm. It would give enough time for photos during the day, a reasonable start time for getting ready, and a good start time for cocktail hour/reception without any lag time. Instead we had to have it at 6pm, which caused the cocktail hour to start late.

Note: we did bride/groom and family pictures before and I would do that again if given the option.

I’ve had my wedding and this is what we did:

10:00am: Started getting ready

1:30pm: Started photos, including first look

3:00pm: Family photos

4:00pm: Ceremony

5:00pm: Cocktail hour

6:00pm: Dinner

The reason we decided to do it this way is because 1) we wanted ample time to take photos and 2) Our ceremony and reception were at the same spot, so we didn’t want to make guests wait hours between the ceremony and dinner.  It worked out perfectly!

Ours will be at 1:00 pm. This way, we can get away with not having a sitdown meal or alcohol.

@sillyquirky:  Your having an outdoor wedding in February? I assume you don’t live in a cold climate lol? (ETA: Wait, did you already get married? Your date says 2012)

My wedding was also in February, but in Quebec, so it was definitely an indoor party for the most part lol.
