This is our first month of TTC and I have an OPK but have been getting negatives. I had tried the OPK out last month and got a positive and I’ve been in my fertile window but have been getting negatives for the past few days. I’ve been testing first thing in the morning but am now wondering if this isn’t the way to do it since I recently read that you can have the surge in the morning but it takes a few hours to show up in urine. When is the best time to test?

I usually test between 2-6 in the late afternoon/early evening. If I am really close to my O date, then I test 2x a day. Try it midday/afternoon and see if you get anything. Good luck!

I always tested with FMU and got positives. I could test with either FMU or SMU. My urine was too diluted for afternoon or evenings, so I got negatives during the afternoon even if I got a + that morning and a + the next morning. So eventually I quit and only did 1x a day with FMU. I would suggest first thing in the morning and then in the afternoon. Eventually you can find the time that works best, but you wouldn’t want to miss something because you were only testing 1x a day.

Thanks for the suggestions! This is all new and a little confusing/overwhelming sometimes.
