- Wedding: October 2010
I’m having a hard time deciding on a start time..we’re getting married on a ranch in October here in CA, sunset is at 6:30pm, most of our guest will be bussed in as our location is pretty remote, that trip takes about an hour, so I need to leave time for any possible problems ( guests late to catch the bus etc, missed turns..) so I’m going to have the bus pick up around 2 hrs before the ceremony start time..is that too early? People will have access to a full bar at the pick up site ( we own a bar and that’s where they’ll get picked up!)
I was thinking of 5pm start time, but feel like it’s too late and we wont ‘get our moneys worth'( our venue has no time restrictions, only a ‘turn the music done at 10pm ‘ rule)
On the other hand, I was thinking 4pm, but is that too early? after cocktail hour it’ll only be around 6pm at the latest , is that too early for dinner? It won’t even be dark yet!
We have our photog and video guy for 6 hrs..how long beforehand to you have them arrive? I’d hate to use up all the time beforehand, but don’t really care for the late night shots either! I do want them there for the toasts and cake business though..
I dont know.. it just all seems like an awful lot of work and expense for just a 5 hr party! But I guess the party starts a lot earlier for those guests riding the bus..
