So I’m now second guessing how early we’re booked for hair…
My ceremony is at 5:30, we need 30-45 minutes to get there, photog arrives at 3:30 (where I’m getting ready, not the venue)
My sister is doing my makeup, girls are doing their own and I want to make sure we have enough time, aren’t rushed and have time for lunch.
Our hair is booked for 9am – is that too early?

Always have wiggle room! My hair appt was at 9am, and I wanted to be complete done getting ready by 2pm (first look then, and ceremony at 4:30). Despite getting started with hair on time, it ended up taking about 40 minutes longer than my hair dresser had anticipated. So then I was late for makeup. I still was done in plenty of time because they did my makeup first since we were a little behind, but I definitely learned why so many brides say plan for extra time!
I think 9am sounds fine. It’s not painfully early, but it should leave enough room in case someone takes a little longer.

Our ceremony is also at 5:30 and my hair appt is at 10. I wanted it a bit later, so my hair wouldn’t fall flat, but my makeup artist has 2 weddings to do that day, so we have to go around her schedule. She’s getting to the venue to do my BMs makeup at 10, while I’m at the salon getting my hair done. The salon doesn’t open until 10, and I don’t want to get my makeup done before my hair, so its the only way we could make it work.

That seems very early to me. You could have lunch before you even really need to get ready depending on the number of girls. Assume 45mins for hair for each girl and 1hr or a little more for yourself. We’re starting around 9:30 and photographer arrives at 1 for pictures. Typically when I’ve been in weddings that start around 2 we’ve gotten ready around 9-10. I actually played a tournament soccer game before my cousins 2pm ceremony that I was a bridesmaid in lol and it worked out totally fine, I was ready before them!

MrsN14: you would stress me out. There would be no soccer playing before a 2pm wedding….couldn’t handle that.
My sister/MOH also has a 2 year old that we have to account for and one of my BMs has an insane amount of hair – crazy long AND crazy thick (like 3″ ponytail thick)

Our ceremony starts at 4, we have to be ready for 3. I have 4 bm’s and myself, and the hairdresser is coming at 9am 🙂

MsGinkgo: Ceremony starts at 4:30 and hair appointments start at 9 but mine is last at 11. That gives us about an hour before the venue time begins so if they run late, we’re okay. If they’re on time, we’ll go get coffee or something.

My ceremony was at 5, and I got my hair done at 1:30. I think yours is too early, as you want your hair to look as perfect as possible. If she was going to put the veil in for you especially.

MsGinkgo: Maybe I should clarify my timing since whoa_its_ash made a good point. I have a 4:30 ceremony and 11:00 hair appointment BUT our photos, since we are taking all of them before the ceremony, are starting between 1:30 and 2:00.
