I have a step-dad who has been my dad all my life. He is really hard to buy for. Every year at Christmas is a struggle. Usually I get him tools, computer stuff or gift cards to places like Home Depot. He has been the closest thing to a dad Ive had all my life so I want to do something special for him as a gift for my wedding. We dont have a gushy relationship though. We dont really hug or do daddy-daughter kind of things. We are both really sarcastic and tease each other a lot, so I dont want to get him something he wont use or something thats too “gushy” lol.
So far, all I have come up with is writing him a letter of thanks.
Any ideas for moms as well?
What about a 2 years old flower girl?
4 year old ring bearer?

How about something he loves but that he wouldn’t necessarily get himself, like (and it depends what he like):
Golf stuff, fancy watch, a Swiss Amy Knife, engraved guitar pick, a barometer…? Otherwise maybe a bottle of his favourite and some really nice crystal glasses?
I think for your flowergirl, maybe something cute like a Bride My Little Pony, a personalised teddy. Or if you want something she can look back on in the future how about a charm bracelet, music box…
For your ring bearer: baseball stuff( or whatever sport is big for him), engraved harmonica, or maybe do a backpack with fun things in he can use on the day to keep occupied. Or just get him whatever toy he is really wanting, that works too.

@MissMudge: You guys sound exactly the same as my step dad and I. He won’t let me by him stuff; he kind of just buys whatever he wants. So I’m at a loss as well.

@DarthBetty That is my dad…he will just go out and buy what he needs, he wont let me get him anything.
@clairebear000 ALl of those ideas sound great…for normal dads haha. I think I might just get him a watch. He likes the really expense ones though like in the thousands of dollars and I cant afford that. Maybe I’ll ask my mom if he has mentioned wanting anything lately.
He is funny because at Christmas time each year, like a week before, he will go out an dbuy himself stuff…knwoing that we will all have to take our stuff back that we got him.
As far as the flower girl, she is only two. My mom and I have been building a pandora bracelet since she was two. I guess I could add to it and also get her a toy or stuffed animal of some sort, maybe with her name stitched onto it.
Ring bearer, he does like baseball so I could do that. He LOVES wrestling so we were going to get him a wretling belt with him name on it but I cannot find them anywhere online to order where I can get his name engraved.
