My friend does this on weekends (she’s an event planner in real life, but only does weddings on the weekends) and she typically charges $500.

I think you should ask for 300.

@Starfighter: I think 200 or 250 is fair considering how much you are doing and she is a friend 🙂

When I had a planning company/boutique I charged between $75.00 and $80.00 an hour or a flat fee based on the clients needs.

I think your friend is lucky to have you for only $200!

Then $200 sounds perfect.  And I’m considering friending you and flying you to Oklahoma for our wedding 🙂

I’m just starting out and I only charge $150-$200 for day of and $600 for the whole planning. I have low rates because I’m starting out and don’t have a ton of experience but I do have some.

I’ve done this for lots of friends as well. (Obessed with weddings here :)) I am in the same camp as you, I would do it for free. Since she seems adament that she pay you I would probably only ask for $100.00. I’m not a professional though, are you? I would never ask someone to pay an amount that was equal to what a professional costs, but thats just me.
