- Wedding: April 2012
My friend is getting married in October of this year. There has been all manner of problems with her bridesmaids. I am not one but I am still a very close friend. She had to choose these three girls as she’s been friends with them since school and couldn’t pick one as this would’ve caused problems for the others. The long and short of it comes down to this – despite giving ideas of what she wanted for her hen do (bachelorette party), the organiser completely ignored these and tried to do her own thing. The whole time she has been very vague in giving information to people about what we were doing and when it came to people giving their money over so she could book, only 3 people out of 25 or so did, not including any of the bridesmaids! Apparently this was due to money and people not being able to afford it, but it has resulted now from being a 2 night hen weekend near london in a big country house to one night in liverpool doing cocktail making. i am still prepared to go for both nights as I’m not going to let me friend down but she’s really upset that her bridesmaids are letting her down (as all three have now decided they only want to go for one night). Furthermore, because of this debacle, only 10 people are coming to the hen do and only 5 will stay for the second night. The bridemaids feel she is being a bit of a bridezilla about it (which she isn’t, she’s purely concerned that nothing had been organised properly which it hadn’t) and i can see this all ending in tears. I have been her shoulder to cry on for the past couple of weeks and quite frankly, her bridemaids need to step up to the mark and admit that they’re not being at her beck and call as they should be!
i am in the wrong or do you think that they’re being really rubbish?!
