I would say make an appointment, pay for the alterations and let her know when the appointment is!

Why is she being such a brat about this? My alterations were $30 to have my dress hemmed. it literally took me 5 mins with the alt. lady.

Have you offered to gift the alterations to her before? Perhaps that would help pursuade her. Also, if there is a tactful way to bring up the fact that less than 2 months is not enough time to lose 15 pounds without resorting to dangerous methods, and the issue of legnth is not going to be resolvied by weight loss.

Don’t use the words “gift” as a verb with her.  It sounds catty considering she paid for the dress to be in your wedding.  Just straight up tell her that you’re paying for it and ask what time to meet you.

Make the appointment and go together and maybe when she sees how much better she will look in it it will help.  Or take a picture and show her the problems you have with it, sometimes it takes looking a picture and not in a mirror to see how the dress is not fitting.

@armychica06:  You’re a lot nicer than me. I would have various family memebers help me contact her. I would then set the appointment for her and go with her. If she does not get it done, I’m bitch enough to say “I’m sorry but you can’t stand up there looking like that” but then again that’s a friendship breakerFrown

First of all… you have plenty of time so don’t panic yet. I would just have an honest conversation with her about it. Tell her you are willing to help pay for the alterations so that the dress fits her better. Maybe she is just trying to give herself a little more time to lose the weight?

47 days and she’s planning on losing 15 lbs?

Call her or show up at her house and tell her that you’re going to make the appointment and you’re paying for the alterations and if she loses 15lbs by your wedding and the dress is too big, you will pay to have it taken in again.

Tell her that you have enough stress with everything else going on with the wedding and this is the last thing you need – and if she doesn’t go on the next appointment you make, that she better show up 15lbs skinnier and a few inches taller on your wedding day or not at all.

If you want to pay for the alterations, then by all means make the appointment for her.  Otherwise, she’ll be the one looking like an idiot in a too-long, boobalicious dress.  Maybe you could get each of them a low-priced faux pashmina for pics so they aren’t all shots of her out of control top.

@armychica06:  What other issues have you been having? If she does not go and looks a hot mess at the wedding, I would request to the photog to make sure that shots of her are minimal…
