Definitely write a formal complaint.. get signed statements from the guests that saw it if you had to. That is unacceptable!

I would get on the phone to them or go in to see them, if they are close by and let them know what happened and how not satisfied you are with their service. That should not have happened; anywhere!!! I would be livid. Also, I would contact the health department in your area and let them know what happened. If there was one seen; there are definately way more lurking around.

OMG!!

I would call your venue’s coordinator and alert your city’s public health inspectors.  In my town the inspectors will drop by venues if someone calls and complains about a potential (significant) infraction… and I’d say roaches would fall under that category.

Definitely call a health inspector!  Where there is one roach, there are thousands!!  Do you ever watch Kitchen Nightmares??  Oh my goodness!

I would call or go in person to talk to the manager/owner.  That is unacceptable, since there is more than likely a lot more than just one.  I would talk to them first before calling the health department in case they want to refund you some money.

I would complain first to get at least a partial refund. And then I would go to the health department, regardless of it you get it or not. That is ridiculous! 🙁

After vomiting, I would have stern words with the vendor. If that fails to resolve anything, then for sure report to BBB and local health department.

Complain first – do it in writing, whether it be an email or letter and follow up with a phone call.  Ask for compensation if it is not offered.

Then inform city/county inspectors.  Surprisingly they may not be in violation of anything depending on your area and laws, but it should still be reported.

OMG! Definitely report that to the Health department, talk to the vendor about compensation and if you’re me, go sit in the corner and cry. I HATE!!!!! cockroaches!

Ok I just got all squirmy thinking about that! That’s one thing that hasn’t crossed my mind but now it has! (not becuase of you though)

I would write a formal complaint, then follow up with a call or visit. Then call the city health inspector or building inspector. The Bee’s are right, where there is one roach, there are many. Good luck and let us know the outcome!

Thank goodness your guests were so calm and didn’t freak out!!

I would call the event manager and complain….? I don’t know! It’s just gross!

I might even consider asking for some sort of reiumbursement or something… you paid for a top notch meal and some of your guests did NOT receive that because of something that is 100% the venue’s fault.
