I could really use some advice. Our wedding is in May of this year. For my bridesmaids, we decided on the Alfred Sung dupioni dresses, and I was on time in telling all myy girls when to order. I let them know in October, and asked that they order by the end on January. I don;t know how this happened, but I completely forgot to address what FH’s groomslady would wear. Today we discussed it and we decided tha it would be best for her dress to match my bridesmaids’. The problem is that everywhere I’ve seen takes upt o 12 weeks to deliver the dresses. And if it ends up needing alterations, there may not be enough time. I hate top ask her to make a pretty big purchase on such short notice, but I don’t want it to be to late either. Should I give her an extended deadline, and offer to pay the rush charge ($45-50)? Should I find something else for her to wear? Or should I just tell her what I want her to wear and hope she can get it in time?

That would be a nice gesture on your part! But if she’s willing to risk it, and says it’s fine, then I wouldn’t pressure her to take it

My dresses all came way sooner than the 12 weeks they told us, but to offer to pay the rush fee would be great

Thank you both for your suggestions!
@MrsRichard: Where did you order from, and about how long did they take to come in, if you don’t mind?

@ldsilva: I ordered from Alfred Angelo and they took about 6 weeks!

my dresses came in wayyyy earlier (one was in within 2weeks) i think you will be fine but like pp mention maybe offer to pay rush shipping? Or wait a few weeks and if it isn’t in call the salon and then apply the rush shipping

I was the “best man” in my friends wedding. The Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses were chiffon. The bride wanted me to wear black so I would match the guys. She wanted myself and the maid of honour to be wearing long dresses. So, I got a long, black chiffon dress that mirrored the BM’s dresses. You could get her something that compliments.

You could do what we’re doing – have the grooms’ woman wear a black dress! We thought it would make sense for her to match the men on his side. This logic would have gotten us into trouble, however, if we’d had a male on my side, as my bridesmaids are wearing blush pink dresses!

I always liked when the groomsladies matched the men and not the ladies. Have her wear the same color as the men, something like this:
