Hello bees! Merry Christmas to everyone!
I went and visited my venue (which is where both the ceremony and reception will take place) and recently learned that a small parking lot that was going to be made available to us will no longer be available. I am getting married at a house on a short dirt road off of a main paved road. I was REALLY relying on using that parking lot, but it is no longer possible (other residents who live in the area apparently use it now for their regular parking).
There will only be three spaces available outside the main house, which I plan on having the caterers, officiant, and bridal party use so they can get back and forth to the house easily. The venue owner said we coul park on the main road and walk down the dirt road to the wedding (about a 7 min walk).
I am just worried that it would be difficult for everyone to find parking on the main road. I am also concerned for anyone who might have difficultly walking that far (such as the elderly). Thankfully we do not have anyone in wheelchairs coming to the wedding.
I am thinking of having a designated “shuttle person” and “parking person” to drive people to the site who need it and to direct people to help them find parking. what do you think? Or am I crazy to think that I can pull of this 60 person wedding with a potentially crappy parking situation?
