- Wedding: February 2014
So for months now I have been envisioning wearing sparkly clear rhineshone shoes for my wedding day:
So sparkly! Like cinderella.
But am I wrong to not want to buy from china? firstly, I worry that half those sites are scams and secondly, even if not I just imagine they are some sort of sweatshop with poorly paid and poorly treated workers. I would much prefer to buy from America or Canada if possible because I consider it more trustworthy than somewhere I’m not familiar with.
So.. I found this AMAZING shoes that I thought would work great.
However, when I went to order them they were out of stock on my size. I signed up to get an e-mail update when they came back in stock, but it never came. I have now been checking the site pretty much daily. My wedding is in February and I want to make sure I have my shoes before doing alterations on my dress, which I’m guessing I have to do soon! I just contacted them again and they said they should be ready in early January.
Now I am looking at other options.
I found these at David’s bridal:
They are NOT rhinestone covered shoes. 🙁
On the one hand I can try them on in store and they seem comfy enough. They are also about $100 cheaper than my first chioce so that is a plus. Another bonus is not waiting for shipping. Cons are they are more of a silver mesh up close, not exactly what I envisioned, but I may need to compromise.
Next I checked out Etsy and found these:
They are comparable in price to the David’s bridal shoes, but they are a little closer to what I was imagining. Again they aren’t covered in crystals, these ones are covered in glitter so they are ultra sparkly Cinderella-esque shoes. On the down side I can’t try them on and I have to pay/wait for shipping. Seriously considering these, but I wish I could see them in real life!
Another option I saw on the site that sold the shoes I really wanted was these:
Which, as much as they are billed as “A shoe like no other” they are pretty clearly a really great replica of Manolo Blahnik’s Swan shoes without the $1295.00 price tag. They are still $179 which is more than any other shoes I have looked at. These shoes are gorgeous so I’m considering them as well. Okay, I admit it, it’s because they are the shoes that “Bella” wore in the wedding scene of Breaking Dawn. (Yes, I’m a Twilight lover) If I had never seen the crystal covered shoes I probably would have bought these and been happy, but now I just keep looking at the original picture of the shoes I wanted and feeling like nothing else is good enough. I like the idea of wearing “Bella’s” wedding shoes, but a part of me feels like would I choose them if they weren’t on a character? Should I be more original? (FYI my dress looks absolutely nothing like the characters)
Maybe I should stop thinking about my original crystal shoe idea and just go with something beautiful and unrelated. These $150 wedding shoes are incredible and nothing like what I thought I wanted:
But in the end, do they seem more timeless?
So maybe I should go back to square one. What would you do if you were me? Which shoes would you pick? Is there another shoe I should look into! Help me fashionable bees!
Also, if you have any pics of you in similiar shoes it would be so helpful!!
