I’ve read some of the other boards about brunch receptions, and what to do after. Most suggest an after party with dinner and dancing, while others suggest taking on a local event.
We will not have the $ to host an after party, and my fiance is not a big partier/dancer anyway. Would it be tacky to say “We’ll be having dinner at such-and-such a place, and if you’d like to join us, you are more than welcome” (Then mentioning that it’s a pay your own way type of thing?)
After the reception in the suburbs, we plan on taking a limo to the city where we’ll be staying in a swanky hotel, and plan on having a super nice dinner. Part of me wants it to be just the two of us, while the other part of me just won’t want the day to end.
Any ideas? If you had a brunch reception, what did you do afterwards? My sister said I’ll be so tired that all I’ll want to do is throw some shorts and a tank top on and veg the rest of the day, but I feel that would be sort of “wasting the day”.
PS Our wedding is on a Sunday, so I don’t know how many places will be open late.

I’m having a sunday brunch wedding too! Fiance and I actually aren’t planning on any sort of after party with guests and I am really happy about that. Although I’m sure my mother will give me grief about it.
We plan on going to a nice hotel, relaxing, enjoying the pool and jacuzzi, and then going to a fancy dinner. I will probably wear my hair flower and I fully plan on driving around with the just married sign on our car and enjoying married bliss.
I bet after waking up early, getting ready, having the ceremony, and then reception with your guests you’ll be ready for some quality alone time with your new hubby 🙂

Our reception will be from 1-5. Kinda an akward time for a wedding, but it was cheaper that way and went well with our 11 o clock ceremony.
I do not know what we will do afterwards! Probably just go to the hotel. I don’t know if we will be hungry enough to go to a fancy dinner! Since our reception ends at 5.
Maybe well plan to leave straight for our honeymoon right from the reception (since we will be driving).
I don’t know what to do yet!
