Just sit back & watch. : ) Reserve yourself & FH two seats in the audience, and just make your way over to them to sit down for a breather. You can do the unity candle/sand vase during it, if you want, but then people might be torn between watching you do that, and watching the performance. If you really would feel awkward sitting down & watching, you could have her sing it while you sign the marriage license.

I had the same question in my thoughts. My sister will be singing the first 2 or 3 versus of Ave Maria by Beyonce and i was thinking of Sand ceremony. But i was never into that till I found out the candels wont really work outdoors lol. So my next thought was having our mothers come up and giving them a rose and a final kiss as a blessing before our first kiss together. Im leaning towrads that idea a lot more.

I was trying to figure out what to do while my friend sings also. I didn’t want the awkwardness, I would laugh. She was going to do it while we do our thing. We are actually potting a plant instead of a unity candle or sand. It’s more us, and we get to have a plant after instead of a candle with no flame!

But we knew that would take no time at all and then we would be standing there and all our guests would be just looking at my friend, we could pray or just enjoy the moment, but i would laugh. So my friend is singing before I actually walk down the aisle, she will sing while the parents and grandparents are being seated. We are trying to make it shorter, it’s outside in Oklahoma summer. Not goo weather.
