I dated someone whose cat had seperation anxiety.  One thing that helped was spending some quality time with the cat; they did clicker training and taught the cat to do tricks.

One of my cats is a bit anxious.  She does best when there is a household routine, so we have things like designated cat treat time, designated “petting zones” in the house.  Feliway helps too, but I know it doesn’t work on all cats.  We had better luck with the diffuser than the spray, but I know people who report the opposite.  This cat also feels more secure when she has a perch up high in every room that she can get to (and escape the other cat, if necessary), so we had to do some rearranging. Thankfully, the other cat isn’t much of a jumper!

I have a very needy cat. We got him a heated cat bed, which he loves. If he keeps pestering me, I stick him in the heated cat bed. Sometimes it takes several tries to get him to stay. We love him, but sometimes I just need my own space!!
