First of all.. try it on before you commit.  Also Davids can search and see if other stores have it in stock,  but they usually male you commit to purchasing it before they ship it between stores. Good luck!

Is it possible to call a store and order it and get them to ship it to you? Not sure if they’d do it but worth a try!

Can you travel to a DB not too far from you that may have it in stock so that you’re able to see it in person and try it on before committing to purchase it?

You can have it made by a wholesaler. It wont be the exact dress but close enough

I fell in love with a discontinued White dress too! I lucked out and the store I visited had 3 in my size left, and only those three. I ended up buying my dress a week after getting engaged and a year and half before my wedding. Definitely call around and see if you can find to try on.

Call DB near you and see if they have it in a size close to yours.  They can also call other stores to locate the dress.  Then, you buy the sample.  If it’s a size or two too big, don’t worry — it can be altered.

I went home with a discontinued White gown a month ago.  I fell in love with it and had to have it.  It’s a little big, but I’d rather deal with a fwe extra bucks in alterations than not have this gown.

If at all possible, I would definitely agree with trying it on at the store before you buy it because sometimes things that look good in the photos turn out to not look very good in person. However, if you’re determined to have this dress even if you can’t try on a sample, I think your two options are to call a few David’s Bridal shops and see if they can locate one for you at another store, or ask a reputable replica dress maker like Jasmine’s Bridal Shop to make you a similar dress. Even though Jasmine’s Bridal Shop doesn’t promise an exact copy, I am pretty confident they could make something very similar if you just show them the photos.

@misschic94:  Why don’t you call and make a phone order? I think getting in touch with DB would be your best bet, I’m sure they can work something out for you.

It’s a fabulous dress. You should definitely try before commiting though.

@misschic94:  This happened to me. The dress I’d been keeping an eye on on a website suddenly said ‘this product is no longer available’. My stomach just dropped. I emailed the website asking them if there was any chance I could still order one and they said yes! They made the dress available on the website again until I’d ordered it!!

I feel like this was a test to make sure the dress was the ONE or not.. if it wasn’t I’d have given up and just kept looking.

So even though my wedding’s a year out it’s on its way to me 😀 😀

So my advice is to contact David’s Bridal directly and see if there’s anything that can be done!

I was almost in your exact situation, EXCEPT I managed to try the dress on before it was discontinued.

When I phoned up the bridal store to order it I was told it had been discontinued. That was in August, it was full price at £1350gbp, and I’ve only just managed to find a sample of it 2hrs away for £600gbp so well worth the wait.

However, what I would say is that I already knew I loved the dress in August and had seen what it looks like on me and I would definitely recommend phoning other DB stores?

Sorry you’re having trouble, it’s so stressful when this happens!!!

YES!  I was in a similar situation – I’ve been sort of keeping my eye out for a dress I saw on a TV show two years ago! (I am a wedding coordinator, so I get a lot of emails from local vendors about events, sales, etc and that’s how I’ve always just kept a look out).  Well, right after I got engaged last month, I googled something and landed here on the wedding bee. I happened to stumble upon a post from a girl with the exact dress I was looking for!  She said it was from David’s bridal.  I looked it up on the website and it was there, but on clearance for $399!  Awesome – but, it was on available in store, which means once it’s purchased, it’s yours.  So, I went with a couple friends immediately (because DB couldn’t tell me exactly when they would be discontinuing) and tried on only that dress – It was perfect and I bought it.  My only regret is that my mother wasn’t there (she lives in michigan, I’m in florida), but it comes in next week when she will be here.  I’m a little sad that I didn’t get the whole fun of trying on tons of dresses…and I’m still contiplating doing that, but I don’t want to second guess my first dress b/c I love it so much.  I think I may try on a few more and if I find something I like better…then I’ll sell it!
