@peachacid: I know it’s really hard to see yourself and feel confident in your appearence but I have to say the photos are not that bad. Everyone has flaws and until you listed them one by one I noticed none of them. Also, just something to think about from a bigger girl – when you call yourself “fat” think about the fact that there are girls out there who would kill to be as thin as you (me, I’m one of those girls!!) and how that might make them feel. Since I’ve started thinking this way I’ve become more confident in my appearence and try to not insult myself because it can make other people feel bad about themselves. I honestly don’t even see a double chin and your arm looks the exact same in both of those photos, I also love how excited you look. I know you said you don’t like your smile but it’s one of those spontaneous “I’m so happy I can’t control myself” types of smiles and that’s one of the most beautiful things about your photo.

I think we see you as the like the picture on the left, you see yourself like the picture on the right.. lol, you look fine. It’s a weird angle of your whole body and it looks like you’re caught off gaurd. Do you have anyones you were ready for to share? (Oh, ps. you arm looks excatly the same)

I think you look like most typical brides, beautiful and classy
just because you don’t look like a PINTREST bride or a Victoria Secret model just means that you are a *gasp* normal pretty girl!!!!
i think you (like many other women) have been flooded with images from the media/celebrity weddings and just had unrealistix expectations of what you would look like
i think you look great!

I think you have a mischievous grin on!! 🙂 I think it’s cute!

Many girls would love to look as slim and as happy as you. 🙂 But yes, i agree we are our own worst critics. and you just look like a happy bride to me!

Your photo makes me wonder what you’re thinking..
You look cute, a bit mischevious, fun, and like its the happiest day of your life.
The last thing I look at is someone’s arm, but since you’re wanting thoughts,, trust me, it looks thin.. fat arms don’t have the contours around the muscle I can clearly see in your photo. Also, the way your torso sits in your dress definitely shows theres no excess body there (no muffin tops over the side or sweetheart neckline). I feel weird having looked at your arm and commenting in that much detail….
Its a lovely photo, of a normal, gorgeous person, on a really happy day. Candid, lovely, beautiful. Sometimes it takes time to get used to our own pictures, we look different than we look to ourselves, because we always look for too much, and notice details that no one else does.

Honey, you looked beautiful!

Okay, your question is “what to do if you really do look ugly in pictures.” But we can’t help you with that, because you don’t look ugly! I promise, you look very pretty, your arms are not fat. The stuff you are seeing if getting messed up somewhere between your eyes and your brain. Every time you look at the pics, remind yourself that that’s what’s happening. “Okay, self, your brain is interpreting these images in a weird way.” Could you suggest to your husband that he take some photos to his office? Or get him one in some kind of frame for his car? (Is there such a thing as frames for in your car? I don’t know.) If it’s going to make you crazy to see photos in your house every day, find some kind of compromise to minimize the crazy, if you know what I mean.
YOU LOOK FINE. There’s nothing wrong with the photos, and there’s nothing wrong with the way you look. The problem is your brain.

@peachacid: fat??? Definitely not. It looks like your photographer just caught you from an unflattering angle. I would never look at that picture and say “Wow that bride is ugly!” but more like, “Wow that photographer should not have snapped the picture at that moment!”

@peachacid: also, I’ll add a thought about the camera: some people are not photogenic.
I have a friend who is pretty in real life. She’s slim and elegant and has an unusual look. She eye-catching, but she doesn’t photograph well.
Her husband entered her in one of those “makeover” contests and she looked dumpy in all of the After photos. Part of that was, I suppose, her being ill at ease in front of the camera. But none of them captured that she”s pretty.

@peachacid: When I started tearing myself down looking at our wedding photos my husband said he was going to delete them all. 😛 We’re seriously our own worst critics. I think you look great!

@peachacid: Why not post a picture on the wall of the two of you kissing instead? Im sure you look fine in the pictures! But it can be an alternative. This way you still have a wedding picture up but you cant really see you.

I’m a bit disturbed that you find yourself fat. I draw blood in a hospital so I am looking at arms all day long. I can objectively tell you that your arms are quite small.
