maybe they eloped and kept it on the DL? Or maybe it was completely spontaneous like “hey, wanna get married? on wednseday?”

I would send a card at least to say congrats.

I would at least send her a card!  Yes she got married without letting you know but, then again, you never know the reasoning behind something like this.  Just let her know how happy you are for them and that you are still there — it may have just been a real private moment that they now want to share with you. 🙂

I would send them a gift. Why wouldn’t I want to celebrate her marriage, no matter how she chose to do it?

The whole point of eloping is to get away and get married with a minimum of fanfare.

Just be happy for her. That’s what a friend would do.

I had a similar situation but instead of finding out she was married, I found out she was engaged on facebook.  It hurt because we had grown up together, but figured some people just don’t handle certain situations the right way, so I sent a congratulatory email.  A card will do just fine too.

I would send her a congrats message on her wall or a PM on FB.  Sorry about your situation.  It sucks when someone is your friend but you’re not theirs.

Everyone is saying she eloped but OP didn’t say she eloped.  Did she elope, Treasure43?
