I’m going out to a sushi dinner with Fiance tonight, but I want to work out prior to dinner. I’m trying to keep my daily intake around 1,200 cals so to make room for the glass of wine I plan on having with dinner… I need to burn some calories first.
My 30 Day Shred DVD came in the mail today.
Which should I do?
1) Go to the gym right after work and hop on the elliptical for 30-40 min
2) Go home and do level 1 of 30 day shred
Yesterday I did Physical Therapy (mostly ab work) and 50 min on the elliptical.

I know you hurt your back recently, so is it good to do the 30 day shred yet? Elliptical is much less impact and still gives you a good workout. Has your physical therapist given you the go for more intense workouts?

I’ve done the Shred video a few times with friends and my Fiance (I think he has a big crush on Ms Michaels, actually). To me, it seems like a much better workout than half an hour on the elliptical.

@NauticalBride2011: I have been cleared to work out again. As long as what I’m doing doesn’t hurt.
I was also cleared to start horseback riding again. I’ve been pain free and off meds for about 2 weeks now.
But I am wary of injuring myself again, so I’m torn.
@Beluga: That’s what I’m trying to figure out, what will give me the most “bang for my buck”.

I’m way more exhausted after doing the 30 day shred workout than when I get off the elliptical. I’d go with that.

I also vote for the Shred, especially since you did the elliptical yesterday. It’s pretty tough the first time or two just because of how fast she has you moving. I feel more tired after that than the elliptical, but I love the cardio I get from the elliptical.

@piglet_625: I’ve done the level 1 workout once before. It is a killer but I know I can get all the way through it.
Plus that way I’m already home and can work out and shower before Fiance gets home at 7 to go to dinner.

@Treasure43: Alright… shred it is… wish me luck!

Good luck! Even level 1 is really tough!

Just finished level 1.
I made it all the way though… but BARELY!
I had to do one of the arm & leg combo exercises without weights because the lightest I have are 5lbs and that was too much for lateral raises.
I sweated up a storm and feel really good about it!
Now just enough time to shower before heading out to dinner with Fiance.
