I was hoping to get some advice about one of my bridesmaids…
I have 3 bridesmaids, 2 are fantastic, easy going, great sense of style. The other is someone from my fiancee’s family. I decided that the bridesmaids can pick whatever style/length of dress they like, as long as they use black or green as colors. I suggested getting something they will wear again, and I thought everyone was on board. I’ve also told them they can all wear different styles if they like. I’m pretty easy going!
So in having difficulties getting all 3 girls together at once, I’ve made 2 trips dress shopping. The 2 easy going girls found a beautiful dress that was fashionable, and super cute. They could easily wear it again to another special occasion. The 3rd bridesmaid…hates everything the other 2 (and I) like. She wants something WAY above the knee and tight. All of my bridesmaids (and myself) are in our early 30s…no one is comfortable in the short tight dresses. Anything she’s interested in reminds me of something a hooker would wear! Our venue is fairly elegant, so it would be nice to see them look classy! She also made a comment about not bothering to keep in mind something that she will wear again…meaning she is never intending to wear again whatever is worn at the wedding. My question is, why is she being SO difficult then?? I’ve tried everything with her, even offering to pay for half of her dress, because her budget is tight. I thought bridesmaids were supposed to have your back and be easy going! Not stress you out! She doesn’t care what anyone else likes, as long as she looks good (or thinks she looks good).
What do you do in a situation like this?
