I also had dress regrets. It was at my parents house, and after months of not seeing it I took a peek and freaked out. I thought it was going to be too casual and just wasn’t right. But it was too expensive to just buy another one, so I kept it.

On wedding day, I put my dress on and it was perfect. It was perfect for me, it was perfect for our wedding. I’m so glad I didn’t do anything about it and stuck to my gut.

I agree, you need to stick with your gut.  Its very common for brides to have dress doubts, especially when buying the dress a long time out.  I did the same thing and still have small nagging regrets, but anytime I do, I just pull out my dress and look at it.  It silences them.  lol

But, I would try it on and take pictures.  That way you can remind yourself of what you look like in it, and how you felt putting it back on.  Truth is, there will always be other dresses out there that you will like (there is just too many not to) – but you picked that one, at that time, for a reason.  And its true, on your wedding day, you’re going to feel and be the most gorgeous person there (and you know it).  🙂  Good luck~!

I had a similar issue. Loved the dress that day and didn’t take any pics or anything of me in it. For months I questioned if I had made the right choice. At times even wondering if I could fit another dress into the budget. I thought I hated the fabric too. It was tafetta and I kept thinking I spent all that money and got tafetta. That didn’t help my mind stop either.

Then the dress came in. I put it on for my first fitting and all doubts erased! So my advice is to wait until you see it again.  You will probably stay right on track 🙂

I think almost everyone experiences dress doubts.  Honestly, when I feel doubts about my dress I just tell myself to get over it.  I bought a dress and I am sticking with it.  Done and done.

Kind’ve harsh, but I think this whole wedding thing can make us all a little bit crazy sometimes, and I refuse to give into it.  On my wedding day I will look beautiful because I will be radiating from the inside, not because of the dress!

And remember, you loved your dress at the time, so I’m sure that you really do love it.  It’s just such a huge decision that its human nature to think twice.

I definitely think that after a while, the memory of what we felt like and looked like in our dress slips from our mind and fades away.  It’s not like you have fallen in love with another dress, but more like you kind of forgot the feeling you got and that is leading to the insecurity in your choice.  I would wait until you try it on again before you make any decisions!  I was lucky that I was able to take pics of me in the sample, so I can look at those when I forget…but my dress is in, and I get to try it on tomorrow!  I am excited to get the “this is MY dress” feeling 🙂

@cincity75: I really like the shine and think it is really pretty!  I think you should definately take a picture of you in it.  It is really hard for me without a picture.
