I saw this bride rocking her Gatsby dress on the MS website, and it made me think of you, so I thought you might like to see it! It sounds like you’re gaining the confidence to find the dress of your dreams, so good luck, and let us know how it goes!

I know this is an old post but thought you might still have this problem…
Being plus size myself, I just KNOW I won’t enjoy my wedding and my photos if I’m not feeling better about myself (which for me means, if I dont lose some weight until then!). It’s not about the dress. It’s about YOU in it. No dress will look great if you’re not happy with yourself.
You have until October 2011, it’s a LONG, LONG way, and there’s so much you can do. Start exercising, eating better, join weight watchers and whatever. Then set yourself a target and a reward, for example – if you lose X pounds by April 2011, then you’ll buy a dress you truly love.
Remember, no dress can make you feel good about yourself!
Ps: You’ve also asked for honesty and honesty you’ll get. I’m not a fan of the dress. I really don’t like the halter top and think it does not flatter you at all. There’s also this stichting down the front of the dress which I think it’s a bit odd…. You have lots of time to save some money, if you look at other threads some girls bought AMAZING dresses for less than 200USD! Don’t settle for this dress.

I really feel fine about my weight – I’m just frustrated at limited selection of gowns I can actually try on/having a dress I hate.
I’ve been dieting and doing the excercise videos we have on our OnDemand because we have cable, but we live in an apartment so I don’t try to do anything hardcore because the lady downstairs works night and sleeps during the day, plus we have hardwood floors so you cant cover any noise. I’ve been losing inches more than actual pounds (Stupid huh?) I can actually wear bracelets now but the scale says I’ve only lost 5 pounds. (I think we might need a new scale, it says one thing the one day and something else the next day, like that I gained 4 pounds overnight, and it’s so screwed up)

Alfred Angelo and Maggie Sottero probably the best bet to find an awsome dress. Anything with a corset back. Mines an 18 from AA. Its great for the busty girl and its got cap sleeves. You definately got lots of pressure. Maybe you can suprise your family on your wedding day with a new dress. I would just take a friend with you and go shopping.
Here’s my dress:
