What about using them as lighting with candles inside?  They could go around the space, not just on the tables.  You could even fill it partially with shells and put a candle on top of them.

Can you put candles in them and have them line….something? Romantic!

Put a large white pillar candle in each (with some sand in the bottom?), put 2 on each table and 3 on your sweetheart table?  You can then place seashells leaning up against it and around the base of the jar.

You could also have them line your aisle with seashells in them.

Other than the ideas already listed candles/shells/sand/rocks inside or sea glass or if you are using this blue color in other areas of your wedding you could add flowers of another wedding color.  another idea is you could get sanddollars or starfish and tie a ribbon around the neck of the jar and have the sanddollar or starfish hang centered on the jar.  maybe they could be aisle decoration for your ceremony?

I say line that aisle with them with sand, sea shells and a a lit candle. Would be gorgeous!

@IreneG: You took the words, ‘sand, shells and candle’ out of my mouth.

were using ours as centerpieces–with wildflowers–i’m wrapping lace and jute twine around the center of them and doilies underneathe them with burlap/jute table runners and chalkboard table numbers.

also they’ll be holding flowers or birdseed with jute twine at the aisle on shepherds hooks too.

how big are these?

You could put a single flower head in them alternating with a  candle anchored in sand and tie wire around the lip to hang from something? hanf from a beam, railing, shepards hooks etc.

You could decopage old (copies) pictures on them of you and your fiance, both sets of parents wedding pictures or any picture.

oh i think you can also submerge photographs in water inside them and maybe put two on each table if you have circle tables.  i know i saw that on theknot or weddingchannel or martha stewart weddings….

Are you getting married on the beach?  I think it would be really pretty to put white candles inside and have them lining the aisle (either hanging from shepherd’s hooks or just sitting in the sand with some white rose petals).

I also think sea glass inside the jars would be gorgeous, especially with a candle on top or a couple of big flowers.

My girlfriend had an outdoor wedding a few weeks ago. We took smaller wire and wrapped it around the jar and made a “hook” of sorts. We put sand, small rocks, and water in them. We then put hydranga’s in all of them hanging out some what and hung them from shepards hooks. We lined the isle with them. They looks sooo cute!

What about using wire and turning them into hanging lanterns?
