I’m struggling with what to do with all the Christmas cards, birthday cards and wedding invitations I’ve received over the past year or so. The don’t-be-a-hoarder side of me wants to just throw them all away but the other part of me is sentimental and attached to them (especially the wedding invites from friends and family members).
What do you do with all your cards? Any suggestions for keeping them but not just stashing them away to be forgotten about forever?

I keep personal cards for birthday, anniversaries, etc but throw out mass holiday cards and invitations.

I’ve seen something like DIY collage placemats made out of card pieces. I’m collecting and planning to cut out the print or message from the cards into different shapes, then arrange them all together somehow in a collage.

Future Mother-In-Law makes placemats of all her holiday cards each year, and adds the year to the back. She uses them every year for Christmas dinner. We use the numbers on the back to keep the big Secret Santa gift exchange in order!

My mom likes to take Christmas cards and make gift bags from them. If you get a nice paper bag from a shop, you can use the front of a Christmas card to paste onto the bag and cover the shop’s logo. If you get enough Christmas cards, you an use some for each side that are somewhat matching and it looks nice.
My friends make a big Christmas collage of old cards and display yearly. Its a neat reminder and instant dash of holiday spirit.

I just saw an idea on tv – take a pic with your smartphone of each of the photo cards, and use it as the pic that comes up when that person calls.
