My husband and I registered for these: http://www.dillards.com/product/Fitz-and-Floyd-Toulouse-Dinnerware_301_-1_301_502906979 and received about half of what we wanted in terms of dishes and all of the flatware to match (16 place settings–we both have large families who like large parties). Dillard’s has a registry completion program of 20% off, but you don’t get the discount until 3 months after your wedding as a courtesy to newlyweds who are either broke from paying for a wedding or busy from setting up life together. Now that three months have passed, the dishes appear to have been discontinued and put on clearance. What would you do in this situation? Anyone dealing with similar issues now that their wedding is past? (They are currently on sale at Macy’s and Belk, too, but their sale prices are higher than Dillard’s original prices for most pieces… the prices direct from Fitz and Floyd are horrendous, too)

… yeah, why wouldn’t you just buy the missing pieces?

The prices at Macy’s seem very reasonable to me. Do you have any gift cards you could use?

I guess the worst part is I can see the clearance prices for everything on the Dillard’s registry even though they aren’t available to purchase anymore and combined with the 20% discount they would theoretically be about $4-5 each rather than the $9-13 each sales price listed on the Macy’s website. For the serving pieces, the prices are $20-$50 more at Macy’s. I might try going to a few Dillard’s stores over the coming week–they might still have some in stores, maybe, hopefully.

@abarber3: the customer service department of most retailers will check to see which stores have stock for you. I would phone their 1-800 number and ask for their help.

@abarber3: I don’t really see the problem. Go to the few store that have them on sale and try and pick them up at a sale price but otherwise just go and pay full price (like you expected guests to) for the missing pieces where ever you can get them! Obviously you wanted the setting because you liked it and suited your needs and tastes so just go ahead and buy it. I mean even if it didn;t go on dicount you would of had to buy the rest of the set that your guests didn’t purcahse.
