I love the idea of 2 bands, I would wear the engagement ring on the right hand and then transfer once the first band is on.

I think that would work fine.

Personally, my Maid/Matron of Honor wore my e-ring during the ceremony (it won’t fit on my right hand) so that I could have an empty finger to recieve my wedding band.  I just got my ring back from her after the ceremony and put it on above my new band.

I plan on wearing it on my right hand and then after he puts my wedding bands on, Fiance will move the e-ring over to my left hand and the officiant will say something like “The e-ring is the promise and the wedding ring is the commitment. You keep the e-ring over wedding ring so the promise holds the commentment in and protects it”

The best man is going to hold both my wedding ring and e ring. Then our minister is going to incorporate into a ceremony something about the sealing of a promise. Fiance will put wedding band on, then slip the e ring on afterwards, to signify a ‘completion of the promise of love’ given when we got engaged.

@Handful:  Sooo LOVE this, I am going to “borrow it” and use it some how in our Ceremony.  Thanks for sharing.

@Handful:  I’ve never heard of that before but it’s lovely! 🙂

When we got married I had my e-ring on my right hand and switched it over after the ceremony.
