I am going to be including FH’s two nieces (sisters) in our wedding. By the time of our wedding, one of the nieces will have JUST turned 10, while the other will have just turned 6 years old. They are sisters and are super close to one another, but everything I look up online would separate the two into the older being a jr. bridesmaid and the other a flower girl. I want the two girls to walk down the aisle together, as they are super close and I want them to hold a sign as they walk “Uncle J, here comes your bride!”. So, would I ask them to be flower girls? Jr. Bridesmaids? I’m not sure how this would work. Any help would be great! 🙂 Thanks ladies!!!

Labels are really not worth getting hung up on…. call them all bridesmaids and there’s no issue!

They’re not flower girls if there are no flowers. I wouldnt get hung up on titles, but if you need something for your program it could be junior bridesmaids or banner bearers,

I have 2 girls and they will be 9/6 at the time of our wedding. My younger one will be flower girl and my older one junior bridesmaid. They are both every excited about having their own separate roles. My girls are very close also. They are excited to have different dresses too. Younger one is excited to dress like me and older one is excited to dress like the bigger girls.

missm0392 : The titles don’t matter in the least, and neither does anything you see online saying you “have to” split them up. I would ask them what they want to be called and if you have a flower girl walking with a jr bridesmaid and they’re both carrying a banner instead of flowers, who cares.

missm0392 : titles dont really matter. Call them whatever you think they’ll prefer. My sister is 12 and was my junior bm however she wore white and had a flower crown as well as a bouquet and was more of a flower girl.

Yes, they can be flower girls without carrying flowers–IF you absolutely need a title for them. A billion and a half websites answer the following question: “What can flower girls carry besides flowers?” So, yeah. No need to carry flowers to be a flower girl. But if you want to call them something else, by all means, call them something else!
Regardless, they can certainly carry your banner.

missm0392 :
Goodness girl, just call them bridesmaids , and as for “I ‘m not sure how this would work” there is nothing to work. It will all be fine, don’t make problems where there are none.
