I’m not wearing a veil so I’m looking for ideas to repurpose my mom’s veil. I’m thinking about making a garter but I’m wondering if anyone else has an idea? I’m terrified to cut it up until I know for sure what to do. I was considering adding it to my hair flower but I think that will end up looking too big for my head.

You can surround your bouquet stem, or make a hanky. I wish my mom had kept hers for this or part of her dress.

I like the idea of putting it around your bouquet 🙂 Or maybe you could make something to decorate your chair at the reception?

I thought about using the lace to wrap around my bouquet, but decided to wear a veil for the ceremony so used the lace there. Even if you don’t want to wear a veil, it could still also work really well in a headpiece – a lace flower, perhaps? or lace around another flower? or just a small piece of it on a comb?

I agree with the posters that said to put it around your bouquet..that would be very special..if you choose to make a garter, are you going to throw it or keep it?

It would be the garter I keep. I think I’ll use the lace for my bouquet stem and the tulle to make a garter. It also has this weird headpiece thing that I think I’ll keep for the kids to play dressup.
Her gown is actually beautiful. It’s certainly not modern and she was 1/2 the size of me! But I didn’t want to cut that up so we could keep that for dress up also. But I thought it would be really special to use her veil.

A friend of mine incorporated her mum’s into her hair. If you have any sort of updo, your hairdresser should be able to weave it in

oooh, keep whatever you don’t use for your wedding and maybe make or have christening outfit for your babies if you do that sort of thing.
